New Char of the Week! And this week's is...

August 16 2001 at 11:10 AM

from IP address 162.33.234.148

...(drumroll)
(B.B. is given the envelope. He starts to open it, but drops it)
Oops! Heh heh.
(picks up envelope, but takes his sweet time)
Ooh! Never woulda guessed!

(from audience) TELL US THE $%^@ CHARACTER!

Okay! This week's char is....MISS INFOMATION!!!

My comments: What can I say? She's gotten a funny running gag with how she misinterpets infomation, and her dinosaur sketch, to me, is immortal. Her theme takes on a funny twist with Chit and Bill thrown into the fray, still laugh when I see it. She's fun to write into fics. Also, another sketch she was in that I liked: Nixon.

This thing will not work without contributations from posters like you! So start putting up stories, comments, top tens, but the interview will be handled by me...

A top ten list!

August 16 2001, 1:50 PM

"Top Ten Reasons why Miss Info is called Miss Info"

10. Read a fanfic by R6.
9. Has not gotten married; thus no "Mrs. Info".
8. Either that or "Miss Interpretation"; Info sounds catchier.
7. Helps you remeber her with such an odd name.
6. Needed a feminine balance; cast had "Mr. Smartypants".
5. With a name like that, she needs no introduction.
4. Somehow, just calling her the "tour guide that does not give out correct knowledge" does not cut it...
3. Maybe it IS her real name!
2. Show producers accidently misread her name when she sent in an accepted application and called her Miss Info; she decided to live with it

And the number one reason why Miss Info is called Miss Info...

1. Get the joke?

...
Actually, that was a hard list to come up with...but I think I pulled it off.

Top ten...

August 16 2001, 3:01 PM

... Reasons why Miss Info leads the tour group.

10: Really has nothing better to do.
9: Gets to keep the bullhorn, even if she resigns.
8: Nobody else would do it, so she took the challenge
7: Randomly picked out of all the adult H! cast
6: Loves to be around tourists for some reason or another.
5: Smartypants. Need I say more?
4: Free travel to anywhere in the world, who woldn't want to take that job?!
3: Helps make better use of the gag that is her name.
2: Money. Need I say more?
And the number one reason why Miss Info leads the tour group...

1: It was that, or co-host with Pepper Mills!

Thank you, and good day...

Miss Information

August 16 2001, 3:39 PM

What can you say about her that hasn't already been said? Well, nothing, but I'll just go over ground that's already been plowed. It goes without saying that she's among the most attractive members of the cast (in my top 3 with Charity Bazaar & Lydia Karaoke), but she's more than that. I got an idea of her potential in a pic from an ep I haven't seen, Blast In the Past. You know the pic I mean, the one where she kicks a tomb door open. No doubt about it; she could kick you-know-what if it comes down to it.

As to her always dispensing the wrong information, I submit to you this: that she makes it look so easy, she really knows what she's doing, that she knows that it's the wrong info & therefore she must know the right info. Why not? For a precedent, consider Spike Jones & the City Slickers. They were professionally trained musicians one & all; yet, when the occasion called for it, they would launch into the most egregious violations of all musical logic known to man, complete with car horns, cowbells, slide whistles, you name it. I submit that Miss Information is like this, & that her getting it wrong is striictly a set-up for someone else to give the real version, akin to a straight man setting up the comic.

And, alright, yes, again, she is one of the, if not THE most attractive person on Histeria. My favorite moments? Well, I'm in agreement on the one with the dinosaurs; that last shot of her just before she's swallowed. Also, in Duets on the music ep. Her reaction to Chopin; just watch her as she says, "That only makes me love him more". Wow! Oh, & that shot of her in the Wild West when she confuses it with the Wild Wild West is good too.

So much for what we've seen of her in the show itself; what of fanfics? Well, she gave as good as she got & then some in Pinky Histeria & the Brain, against some of the most vicious, evil, dirtiest-tricks-playing beings in existence. Then came 24 Hours, in which her true character truly shone. After reading that, I had no doubt that she was the epitome of all virtues & nicenesses. Her connection with Loud, well, let's just say Charity's lucky there's that age difference. Since then, it's come across again & again that she's one of the most reliable, most trustworthy chars you'd ever want to meet, & you would want to meet her. Like Father Time & W.O.W. said in All That Glitters, she's good. If anyone in the show earns a palace it would be her. And her recently discovered lifelong friendship with Lydia Karaoke presents yet another facet of that personality we all have come to know & love.

I thank the creators of Histeria for introducing us to her; & DanniB, robert, & R6 for getting us closer, letting us see the paragon she truly is. She is more, much more than a pretty face & bod, altho she is that in spades.

Oy!

August 16 2001, 3:46 PM

Whoa! You said "What can be said about her that hasn't been said already?" Well, I guess we really do not need to talk about highs/low points of her personality since you covered it all...

....frankly, she probably does have a balck belt in karate or judo with how she kicks the door open with that pic. Perhaps a SC should focus on that?

She most likely is the nicest char on the show, and it's been established she's the beauty of the show...

BTW, the southern accent she has is cute. For some reason, the line I like hearing her accent best is "Ah whould lak to jump in duh water with muh pants on!" in the "Learn Chinese" sketch....

*smack* D'oh!

August 16 2001, 3:54 PM

No relation to G. I. D'oh!, I think. I knew there was something I was forgetting; she a fellow Southerner. As if I haven't done this enough, I salute her for representing Dixie so well. She is a class act, a Southern lady. Ma'am.

Last minute comments before B.B's interview

August 17 2001, 8:50 AM

Some other memories from her on the show were her apperance in the Matching Wits game show in the Know it Alls ep and her interview with Doc Holiday. And as for looks my vote goes to her for best looker on the show{sorry R6 but aside from that pic with Kant, Lydia's had less chances to show off her beauty than Miss Info has} Oh, and let's not forget Loud's reaction to seeing her figure behind a curtain in All That Glitters, even though he didn't know then that was her. But all that would be for nothing if, like Nifnat said, she wasn't as good and kind as our fanfics made her, and I'm proud to have helped start that.

A comparision bewtween the last two Chaarcters of the Week

August 17 2001, 8:57 AM

I've probably said this before, but there is quite a similarity between Miss Information and Charity Bazaar. Both of course have the same voice actress, Laraine Newman, but also, they both have blond hair, are both quite lovely for their ages, the're both kind and considerate, they're both close with Loud, though that was my doing, and they can both do well in fights, PHatB and the 24 stories proved that. There are probably more but if I type anymore than this my computer will say the server can't be found, I had lots more to say in the last post but it wouldn't let me.

Loud's reaction?

How 'bout on that Presidential Home Videos show? Can we say "crush"? And I never did figure out what he whispered to her after she introduced him.

It's in the official standings...

August 18 2001, 12:20 PM

... Miss Info rocks! I can only say it's a crying shame that Warner Bros. only went for 52 episodes (52, or in the case of toons from some OTHER animation empire, 65 is usually the standard number of eps for one series). If they'd gone for 104, we just might have actually seen Episode #53, but we'd have seen even more of Miss Info, and perhaps some of her family. Why do I say this? Because it's likely she's either descended from a long line of royalty (Royalty seems to have a thing for accents), or she's a goddess herself. (Can we say "Absolute beauty"?) Anyways, Aside from my own works, the 24 series was my favorite board moment for the fabulous Miss Information.

And I saw that pic from "Duets"... "Wow!" indeed... Good thing Lydia was nowhere around, or poor Nostra would have been IN for it! (You don't realy think Lyds would bother censoring her own best friend, do you?)

Btw, Robert, your opinion on the "looks comparison" is nothing to be sorry for. For one thing, I doubt it's like Lydia to... flaunt herself that much (Perhaps if she makes the CotW cut, we'll learn more about this), and for another thing, Miss Info DOES have a rather, well (how to say this without getting my @$$ kicked)... noticeable figure. As far as my favorite females, she's #3 (Sorry, but you just gotta love Charity Bazaar)

But back on topic, I can almost bet this thread will be at least half as popular as the last CotW, especially with all the noticeable similarites as noted between the two ladies. Aside from the hair, unique voices (Voice actress), looks, and the connection with Loud, they both seem to be the fan favorites and femme fatales of this board. Thank you, and good day.

Yup...

August 18 2001, 12:44 PM

Yeah...actually, I think the pic of Miss Info I like best is in the Wild2 West pic. That smug look is classic.

Hey, have you guys noticed that H! uses a LOT of rather shapely females? I just realized that...

"Just noticed"?

August 18 2001, 2:18 PM

And you've been where, BB? As to the numbers & figures (isn't that the same thing in some cases?), I don't understand the 52 limit. P&tB went to 65. Okkay, I guess I can understand it, since Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries also went to that number (the last ep we still haven't seen). But really, TTA & A! went to 98, 99? Otoh, F! went to 24, & RoRos to a mere 13. sigh Oh, & imo Karaoke does not come in second to anyone, including Information, figure-atively speaking. Btw what ep was that pic of her with Kant from? The only ep I can ermember Kant being in was When Time Collides. Time to go thru the eps again, I guess.

Oh...

It was in the Philosophy eppy, Nftnat. "The Know-It-Alls", I think it's called.

I'll igore that stinging comment at the beginning of your post, Nftnat...

Actually..

August 18 2001, 6:18 PM

The pic was from the only ep Kant was in, "Whne Time Collides" during the awards show for philosophers that parodied the Oscars, which are only 4 hours or so longer than that skit.
R6, I wanted to mention this earlier, so I will now. I really don't think that Miss Info would get the attention we've started to give her if you hadn't given her the role you did in All That Glitters, before then there wasn't much talk about her, now she's right up there near the top. And technically, this thread is close to being half as popular as Charity's, that had 43, this is no.13. And you will get no @$# kick from me for the noticable figure comment. Hey, B.B, do you plan to make an interview bit like last time sometime?

yeah...

August 20 2001, 7:36 PM

... Robert's right, there wasn't much on her at first... I was wondering about that... guess I've increased her fame.

BTW, Nftnat, I was saying Miss Info's #3, Charity's #2, and Lydia rules at #1. No offense to anyone who thinks otherwise.

And I was kinda looking forward to that interview.

This is response #14... just in case you're counting!

I guess this thread is closed

August 22 2001, 4:54 PM

I say that since tomorrow it will be exactly 1 week since the thread began, so I guess it will be time soon to pick a new CotW. Remember, the characters already picked are Loud, Pepper, Charity, and Miss Info, so anyone other than them are eligable. Other than that, the only thing we know is who R6 will be pulling for.

It ain't closed yet....here's the interview!

August 22 2001, 7:12 PM

Okay....I was sick of fanfic writing for a while, which would explain why this did not come till now. Sorry....

...

(Fade in to see the talk show set from last time, it is pretty much the same, the exception being Miss Info is in the guest chair)

B.B.: Welcome to "Blabbing with Bourgeois Buffoon!" (audience claps and cheers) Our guest is the lovely (waves hand to Miss Info) MISS INFOMATION!! (more clapping and cheering are heard)

Miss Info: Thanks for having me on your show, Mr. Letterman!

B.B.: (shocked) I'm not David Letterman!

Miss Info: Of course you are! You make top ten lists and you sit behind that desk! Plus, you look funny!

(B.B. looks toward the camera with a shocked face, then it turns to one of defeat. He looks back toward Miss Info)

B.B.: Okay, we might as well get started asking questions...

Miss Info: Whatever you say, Dave!

B.B. Sigh....yes. Now that Histeria has bitten the bullet, what are you going to do for work? (smiles) Be a tour guide?

Miss Info: Nope! Gonna become a teacher!

B.B.: Really?

Miss Info: Hm-mm! Since I worked on an educational show, I figure teaching would be a cinch! I already got an apple from a future student! (holds up an apple, but then scratches head in confusion) Still....I dunno why the old teacher was eager to leave! She was in a jacket with the sleeves wrapped around her! And she was mumbling crazy stuff as these men in suits took her and threw her into a truck!

B.B.: Uh...what did the truck say on the side?

Miss Info: Hospital for the Psychologically Hopeless!

B.B.: (arches eyebrow) Ah....well, we've already learned a lot about you from Strange Coincedences....so let's see....(puts chin in palm, appears to think hard for a moment) Ooh! I know! You do know that a lot of people compare you to Charity, right?

Miss Info: Yup! It's cute!

B.B.: Ah....yes. I was gonna ask how you felt about it, but I guess you answered that....well, people just like to compare beauty to other things that are just as beautiful, right?

Miss Info: (blushes, waves hand) Stop it! Yer makin' me blush!

B.B.: (smiles haugtily) Yeah. I know! So....what did you like about working on Histeria?

Miss Info: Oh, it was great! I got to make a lot of new friends, and the pay was good!

B.B.: Oh? Go on.

Miss Info: The people were so nice! They let us write in any jokes we wanted too! (points finger at herself) I'm the one who made up the gag with me confusin' things!

B.B.: Really?

Miss Info: Yep...

( Flashback time. We see Miss Info leading her usual set of tourists)

Miss Info: And Caesar was famous for....uh....(starts to grow nervous)

(QC to a cameraman and nervous director)

Director: (whispering to Miss Info) Come on! We can't have all day to tape this! Say SOMETHING!

Miss Info: Uh....he's famous for making a salad and naming it after himself!

(the studio is deathly quiet. A second later, however, everyone burst out laughing!)

Director: That was GREAT! Keep it! We'll do THAT from now on!

(Miss Info looks on happily. We then fade back to the present)

B.B.: Wow! Never knew that....

Miss Info: I'm proud of making that joke!

B.B.: Oh, yes, the show has made it apparent you're good at martial arts! Care to demostrate?

Miss Info: Sure! (gets up)

(She then starts to do several impressive moves. Unfortuantly, one kick she flubs....and it hits B.B. square in the face!)

Miss Info: OOPS! Uh...Dave? Dave? Mr. Letterman...?

(fade to black)
...

Sorry if this interview was not as good as the other one....but we've actually dealt with a lot of her past and secrets already. Oh well. This was still a succesful CotW! Tune in on tomorrow to see the new char....but let's hear it for Miss Info for now! (B.B. claps and blows a party horn)

We see a shadowed figure by the ballot box...

August 22 2001, 7:56 PM

... Who, me? I know NOTHING about this!

Suddenly a slip of paper with "Lydia Karaoke" written on it falls out of his hand.

Voice: Eh, heh... Gotta go! (Runs off, we see the ballot box with a "Lydia" slip sticking out.)
