I am contemplating running my first marathon in April of 06. I am athletic, working out 4-5 times a week but only run short distances. I am 25 years old with about 13% body fat.

All of the training guides ssem to say I should know what my anticpated run time will be so that I can train accordingly. The only problem is, I don't know what my time should be? Any suggestions would be a big help.

It really depends on what your pace per mile is. I would take that and figure that you can hold that pace for about half the race then add about 2-3 minutes for the next few miles, then and few more to the last few...at least that is what I'm doing.
