I know that soda is horrible, especially for a runner, and I almost never drink it, but I was wondering if anybody knows if naturally sparkling mineral water is just as bad as plain old soda? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Mineral Water is good as long as it is not carbonated

Mineral water is actually the best. It is better in taste and even originality. The water is thin and easily absorbable. But make sure it is gas-free. If it is carbonated, it is as bad as COKE.

I appreciate your response, but I'm struggling to believe that sparkling mineral water is as bad for a person's body as Coke. I'm talking about naturally sparkling mineral water, which is carbonated from the source. I'm talking about naturally sparkling mineral water that doesn't have the corrosive sugar that Coke does. I am hoping that you can point me to a reliable source for your information.

Thanks!
