I am looking to get a watch. I recently started training for my first marathon. Besides lap recall - I want a feature that will tell me if I am on target for finishing by my goal. I found one watch that I thought did this - Timex Ironman Triathalon 150 but then it was out of stock and I have not been able to find another description that says it has this feature. REI has one, I called, they said it does not have that feature. Any good suggestions? REI suggeste the Garmin 405 but $350 is way outside of my budget. Appreciate any help, thanks!

No need to spend that much! The Garmin forerunner 50 (cost $99) and the Garmin forerunner 101 ($114) will provide you with ample training info: pace, distance, time, etc. Just check out the Garmin website directly. It's a great investment for marathon training. My forerunner 101 has helped me tremendously during training runs as well as during the races. Good luck.
