First, congratulations on your weight loss. You should be proud. Next, hitting a plateau is normal, it happens to everyone. Your caloric intake sounds fine. Also, let me say that small children are the reason to KEEP running, not to stop.

You should do at least 2 of the following: First check your sugar intake. 1500 calories is fine as long as it's quality food. Sugar is the biggest culprit in diet problems. Lowfat isn't always best. You need good fats and good carbs, cut out the sugar and soda.
Next, try to add in weight training. Situps, pushups, pullups, anything anaerobic at least 3 times a week. Stay at it, you'll be very surprised. Check out www.crossfit.com
That website and a good crossfit trainer has transformed my body. Also www.crossfitendurance.com is for those who bike, run, and swim. The workouts compliment eachother. It's an amazing program.

Keep at it, don't give up. It's all worth it. The Zone diet might also help you jumpstart your metabolism (which is the reason you are at a plateau). Good luck!
