The Boys Club Days...my home away from home...from school out till dark and later...all day on Saturdays...Saturday morning round ups by the older guys torturing us little guys...rook and chess games in the back...learned my ping pong and basketball here...still have the scar on my shin from playing "rabbit" in the dark and running into a horseshoe metal stob at full tilt...begging "ducks" on anyone who had the money for a double cola (6 cents)...riding the truck to Lynrock Pool everyday in the summer...collecting sundrop bottles full of wasps to get the deposits...friends and teammates like Mike Gallimore, Johnny Carter, Johnny Fulton, Punch Hunt, Gary, Brian, Pat and Mike Hundley, Byrd and Gary Stratton, Bo and Tommy Davis, Jimmy Griffin, Sammy and Johnny Law, and a whole lot more...Directors Herbert Hughes and the Matthews (Jimmy and Harold)and later, Sammy Law...Ha ha ha...what a time...what a time...a lot of us poor boys got rich in experiences at The Boys Club!
