I recently went to the family history center at the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City where I found the only copy of a book LANIER by Louise Ingersoll.
The book details the family of Bethany Lanier, the mother of Dr Kenan Casteen and traces back to Benjamen Lanier b 1711. The significance of this is that anyone wishing to join DAR, who is in the direct line of Bethany Lanier may do so under Benjamen Lanier who gave 300 lbs of beef to the soldiers in the Revolutionary War.
I made copies of the text relating to Lanier/Casteen union if anyone would like a copy.
