Finally made contact with Karen Casteen Gentry who had posted a message back in January. Anyway, we spent the better part of Sunday emailing back and forth. So, guess what I found out.
For all of you Civil War History Buffs make sure you see the new movie "Gods and Generals" because you will see DR. CASTEEN'S GRANDSON, David Carpenter. David is a 49 year actor who has appeard in Lonesome Dove, Matlock, JAG plus several other great movies. He also appeared in Gettysburg as Col. Thomas Devin. Look carefully at the battle scenes at the end of Part 1` on Little Round Top.
So, now in "Gods and Generals" he is wearing grey as Rev. Lacy who was the personal chaplain/minister of General Stonewall Jackson. Oh yeah, my maternal great great grandfather served under General Stonewall Jackson.
