Saw Gods and Generals yesterday, it was an excellent movie and I think David Carpenter did an excellent job playing Rev Lacy.
I have been to all 3 of the battlefields shown in the movie and found it to be very authentic.
I am currently researching the Father of Dr Kenan Casteen (the Grandfather of both David Carpenter and myself) Ceybun Casteen served in the 4th Cavalry in the Civil War. He lived in Duplin County, NC.
If anyone has any more information please let me know. I have traced Dr Casteens Mother, Bethany Lanier back to the 1700's but those Casteens are elusive.
