there are a lot of things going on in jk's life right now. she wouldn't take a deadline for the fifth book because of that. it took almost 4 years for her to come out with ootp. she's writing all of the books at once, so who knows when the next book will come. all we know is that there is no deadline for book 6.

Well, Tina (I think that's who made the last responce) was wrong about one thing. JKR isn't writting all of them at once. She is doing it one at a time. Other then that she was right. She said she isn't accepting a deadline for this one just like the last one. Now we do know she said she doesn't expect as many distractions to take place as did happen when she wrote the last one (she had another child, and stopped writting to write two other books for chairity, and other things). We also know she already started writting this book. Yay!

Not sure. But, I have heard that JKR said book 6 would not be as long as the last 2, however, she did say book 7 would be like an encyclopedia! So if book 6 isn't that long, maybe it will not take 4 years to come out! Or, I could be wrong about all of it!

I was going to mention that also, but she also said Order of the Phoenix was not going to be as long as Goblet of Fire and yet she made it longer. Who knows.

I hope the 6 will be longer than the four+ the fifth and the book seven will much more longer than an encyclopedia.
Aniway, Whatever Jk writes, I will like it. So if it's long to write I expect it will be long and it will more pleasure for us to read.
And I hope that the seventh will not be the last.
I know JKr said, she won't probably give up hp after the seventh and will probably start a new plot in this book.
That's great!!

Actually, when book 4 came out, JKR swore that book 5 wouldn't be anywhere NEAR as long. She said it would be about the size of book 3...gee, that worked out. So I can't take that seriously when she says book 6 will be shorter. If she's like any writer, she's going to be thinking of more ideas as she goes along in her story. Those ideas accumulate. Plus, Voldemort was almost nonexistent in the last book. That gives him now 2 years to cause such havor as to be "greater and more terrible" than he was in an entire 11 or so year reign the first time around.
So I think it will be longer.
But JKR probably won't be getting this one out any time soon. She has a new kid. I can't see her throwing off her family to a nanny. She doesn't seem the type. So she has more stress on her now than she did with OotP.

I am really hoping that book six will be like 1200 plus pages but it is just a hope. And I also would like it if book 7 were even longer so it would take me longer to read them both maybe a week.LOL. But I also agree with however said that Voldemort will be a lot more active. I also think that Harry will die in the 7th book but he will in the process of killing Voldemort. THen he being reunited with Sirius and his parents. Do you know where she got the name Voldemort you know like is it old english or something. Sirius is the scientific name for the North Star if anyone didn't know.If you know please tell me thanks a lot.

um, ootp was rushed? That's makes so much sense considering there was never any deadline except those that she made for herself.. and it took her four freaking years.

I sure hope it doesn't take 4 years. But I guess we just have to wait till it comes. I'm currently waiting for George R.R. Martin to finsh book 4 in the Ice and Fire series. He has a website where he keeps a message saying he will announce the completion of the book the minute he is finished. I go there about once every two weeks to check his progress (how pathetic!).
It would be be great if JKR did something similar, but I suppose then she would be inviting even more questions. I'll bet she would like to be able to go somewhere, where no one knows her, and avoid all the distractions due to her fame. It's got to worry her that the press, fame, attention, opionions, etc... will alter (in a negative way) her original vision for the books.

No, Tina, she isn't writing them all at once, even if you did watch a tv show that she was on. Yes, she HAS written bits and pieces of all the books in advance. She did this years ago to keep the story on track to her original vision. She said that she has boxes of unorganized notes all over the place with plot from all the books. She said that she's even written the last chapter of the last book, but since it isn't published yet, it could be altered.
No, there wasn't a deadline for OotP - she refused to have one as it nearly made her crazy on GoF. However, it seems to many people that this book's plotline seemed quite rushed. She probably got tired of it dragging on so long and just started cranking out the story. As long as the book was, and as long as it took to come out, it sure didn't feel like the full, rich work that she usually gives us. OotP, my least favorite of the series.
Elevaton46 (can I call you El?), I'm not sure if I read your last line right. Are you saying that JKR said that she was going to probably keep writing after 7? "I know JKr said, she won't probably give up hp after the seventh and will probably start a new plot in this book. That's great!!"
Or, are you hoping that she does?
