sorry if this came up earlier, but somewhere i read that in the 7th book, one of the students in harry's year becomes a professor, but it's not harry, ron, or hermione. do u think maybe nevile becomes the herbology teacher?
i dunno. just a thought. any ideas?

The problem with Neville is that EVERYONE seems to think it's him. It's a good guess, but I don't think JKR will want him now that everyone is saying it will be him. Like Lilmiss suggested, JKR could put someone in no matter how illogical they seem in the role.

Neville teaching herbology just seems like the only answer, what else would he do? Then again he is getting a bit better at DADA. He might become that teacher... unless he dies or something. And at this point,anybody can die.

Tina, he might be better...but then again, Draco might be better than Harry. We never actually hear about how they compare.
As for Neville, all it really said in book 4 was that Neville's best subject was Herbology, not that he was absolutely stunning in the course. In book 4, we were still under the impression that Neville was a complete klutz who didn't do well with any topic, so saying that his "best" subject was Herbology didn't mean much.

i think it'd be cool if krum becomes the new dada teacher (fun to see the Hermione-Ron-Krum triangle)
So, if krum's the dada teacher, then Harry's classmate would have to teach something else.. i dunno..
Wouldnt it be cool if Harry does become the dada teacher? think how snape would react if they gave the job he's been after for years and years to the person he hates the most!!!
And think how harry could get back at him, not to mention giving Malfoy and the slytherins extra work!! plus, he could give the gryffindors all the points he wants!!
But no, i dont think that'll happen: heck, DD didnt make Harry a prefect because he had too many things to worry about and he'll make him a teacher???? NO WAY!

I argree with HPfan Dumbledore didn't make Harry a prefect so I doubt he would make him a teacher. A job that's even harder to do then the being a prefect.

I think to be a teacher you have to at least have finished school so it must be someone thats out of Hogwarts. So I don't think Ginny will be the teacher.

I can't remember how it was worded when JK said it. If it was a character from the book, then Krum could be included in it, if it was a classmate then no Krum because he was not in the same school. Now if it is Krum, all I can see him as is a flying instructor. Maybe Madam Hooch (was that her name?) dies or leaves or soemthing. Now if it is a classmate, I would assume somebody from the school in general. If it is somebody from Harry's grade, then I would assume that the student would be a teacher after graduation.
