I have no idea what Dumbledore wants besides Voldemort paying for what he's done. He might have seen friends of his that have been killed by Voldemort.

That's quite an interesting question, but I doubt we will ever know for sure. Perhaps he saw himself standing by a living Harry, in a world with no Voldemort. Or maybe he saw himself with a pair of socks for Christmas (when I checked the Lexicon, I realised people have already come up with that idea x.x).

Well, of course DD actually said "I see wyself holding a pair of thick,woolen socks."
However, this is an interesting question. In a way, DD answer might be the one he would LIKE to give. If the only thing that DD had to wish for in the world was warm socks, that would be great. His real wish is probbaly quite complex.
It would be interesting for the trio to find the mirror again in the next book to see what it would reveal to them now. Ron has made the Quiddich team and was a prefect. Now that he has a taste of the success he saw in the mirror, would he still want to be Head Boy?
