noticed that Tom Riddle and Jame's parents might have went to school together? Think about it. If Tom was 15 in 1945 and Jame's parent's were in his year, then they'd be 30 when James was born (in 1960), which would make sense. Comments?

It really depends on how old they were when they had James though. Mr and Mrs Weasley had finished school before James had started (the Whomping Willow was planted in James' first year specifically for Lupin - and Molly comented on the fact that it was planted there after they had left). Lily and James would have had Harry at the age of 20 if they had died when they were 21, but it is a possibility.

I have always wondered about James parents, even snuffles mentions in book 5 that he ran away from home when he was 15 and moved in with james parents. But we never hear of thier death or anything, i want to know where all the potters are! They are a pureblood family, but not a common name in the wizarding school?

Well they had to have had James when they were anything from 24-35 or something for them to go to school with Voldie, so there is quite a big age gap so it is quite possible.
I would like that to happen, three generations of Potters all knowing and possibly fighting Voldie.

I too am very curious about Harry's grandparents, and I'm surprised he never asked about them... why, we dont even know for sure if they're dead (though they probably are if the Dursleys are his only living relatives...)

I beleive that the Potters are a family of Aurors. I think that's why James hated the dark arts and why he had an "heirloom" invisiblity cloak.
I think that's also born out by the fact the Harry wants to be an Auror, even though he doesn't know what his father did. Afterall, he was chosen as a Seeker and then later found out his dad was a Seeker. Also he produced the "Prongs" Patronus before he knew that was also his dad's. Like father, like son.

James wasnt a Seeker (though the movie incorrectly says so): he was a Chaser unless I'm much mistaken.
But yeah, it could be a family of Aurors, though I wouldnt put it past Lily and James to have been working in the DoM

In book 1, we find out that at least one of Harry's grandfather's is dead- we see him in the Mirror of erised. We never hear anything about Petunia's parents, I've always assumed they were dead since they'd be a blood relative to Lily. But the book does make a point that he saw ONE grandfather- I don't have mine so I can't prove it, maybe someone else could put up that paragraph?

But just because Harry sees him in the mirror of Erised doesnt mean he's dead: the mirror doesnt show dead people; it shows what Harry wants the most: staying with his family. Harry has never seen them and would like to, but it doesnt mean he actually cant.(though they probably are dead)...
