What if....Percy was the next teacher. Dumbledorre had no candidates last year, thus Umbridge was brought in. Well Umbridge is out, so who could cornileus put in the school, who was loyal to him? Percy. Percy might also feel guilty for what he had done to his family over the following year and repent, by joining the order and helping out dumbledore at the school. He does have a high ambition, and a Proffessor is a good occupation. We know he was prefect and head boy at school as well as a scholar, getting a great amount of Owls and Newts. And JKR, said that a student would become a teacher, im not sure when that was to happen, or if she was just $%(#)*% with us, as sometimes she does. Percy "was" a student. The more i think about it, the more it just seems to fit. The probabilty of someone guessing it is slim, i have not seen anyone mention the possibilty on this board or on mugglenet. Meh it's just a guess, what do you think?

Hey Locke, I'll add Percy to your rating as the wizard who has been in the books. It is true that he would be a possiblity. I had'ny thought of him. We don't know much about his abilities except his great OWL and NEWT scores.

The only thing that bothers me about Percy is that I could see him going over to the death-eaters in order to gain power.

Have you noticed how JKR says a student will become a teacher and not professor. Do you think maybe she could have been refering to Harry teaching the DA in book 5 and not actually someone becoming a professor at hogwarts?

If someone has to become a professor I still think Neville is the best bet as the name neville means 'absent minded professor'
