First I would like to say I am new to this board and apologize if you have talked about this topic already. But I have noticed on page 13 Harry has a conversation with Dudley in which Harry states he knows Dudley beat up a ten-year-old by the name of Mark Evans. As we now all know Evans was Harry's mother's maiden name, so Mark Evans and Harry could be related. Perhaps we will see this boy as a first year at Hogwarts in the in the 6th book, since Evans is 10 in the 5th.

Welcome to the board, just a few suggestions:

1. Read the advice to "newbies" post that Sandy set up, it is very imformative and very usefull.

2. Try and read all the "HP" related topics that have been posted over the last few pages.

This topic has been so discussed that I know, you will find it repeatedly, back a few pages.  Many people(on this board) have come to the decision that Evans, is just a coincidence. If Evans is related to Harry, it is distant.(for Mark is Not petunia's nor Lily's son). You also have to remember, Lily was muggle born. Therefore the chances of Mark being a wizard are slim. And lastly, How many times did harry escape Dudly when he was a child? He was a wizard, and he seemed to find the "wierdest" ways to escape, why couldn't Mark.

Another little tidbit, there has been a certain person, traipsing around this board under about 100 different names, if you are her(and i am not saying you are) stick to the rules, and everyone will like you...

Again, Welcome to the board.

....Becuase of course Locke has much knowledge of personality dissorder newbies....

Anyway this topic comes up a few times per week. It is most likely not a coincidence. With so many different names JKR would not use Evans twice like that.
