I've been doing research around all about book six and

all say that Harry and Hermione are going to love each

other in book 6 or 7. I've been peculier about the way

Hermione got all excited when she thought Harry was a

prefect, was kind of depressed when it was Ron. I

don't know more than frinds or just.

Tina, I doubt JKR would go out and say that they're going to be together.

I think that Hermonie was excited because Harry is more responisble (kinda) than Ron is and wouldn't be embarrassed to be a prefect, like Ron was.

I personally agree w/ tina. Ron and Hermione are the ones who will end up in love. JK did make a statement that said "there is something going on between ron and hermione" so she was giving the impression that they would end up dateing at one point or another. Also if you all remember back when you were in like 4th grade whenever you liked someone you would be kind of weird around them ie: when ron shakes hermione's hand after she gives harry a huge (book 2 when she is cured from being petrified) it seemed to have been a really ackward moment. and there are more scenes like this so that leads me to believe that they will get together.

The reason I think they'll hook up is as follows:

1:The end of the fourth year Harry got a kiss from hermione. The next level, since then it's been hugs, still more than ron got.

2:When Jk says Ron and Hermione will be together it's probaly friends by Harry's side. Not girl+boy like that.

Frankly, I don't think either Ron OR Harry deserve to be Prefect. I can see why Hermione was made Prefect, she is a stickler for the rules, but also breaks them when the time is appropriate. I think Harry would have been a terrible prefect. Like Dumbledore told him...he has too much on his plate at the moment. Neither Ron or Harry are good candidates in my opinion. What about the other boys in their year??? Didn't Neville stand up to all three of them their very first year??? To me that, is Prefect material. Not only that it might give Neville the ego boost he so desperatly needs. We don't know much about Dean and Seamus, but they never seem to attract trouble or rule-breaking like Harry does.

Hermione kissed Harry at the end of GOF... ON THE CHEEK. So did Fluer. Is he going to be a bigamist, then?

In england people kiss each other. It means nothing but hello and goodbye. Girls kiss each other that way too. Are they gay? No. It's a different way of life. The books are in Harry's POV, and he has never hinted an interest in Hermione nor was he jealous about Krum - but very amused at Ron for being it - and he could tell what was really bothering Ron. With all the foreshadowing JKR does - I think we'd have a bit more clues than a peck on the cheek.

Hell, even I kissed people in greetings while I was there. It was weird at first, especially when it was this weird and flirty second cousin I had never met before... but you tend to get used to it. (except the flirting! argh!)

Ron and Hermione all the way. I've been routing for it since PoA. I'm a Luna Harry fan too but we won't get into that :-P

ok, first off i highly doubt that harry and hermione are gonna get together. harry has never shown the least bit of jealosy for hermione/krum. Ron on the other hand has shown much jealosy for hermione/krum.
also, hermione is more friendly with harry and akward (sp) around ron. such as when she gives harry a huge hug- i hug my guy friends all the time. that doesnt mean i like them, but they are like my best friends and hugs are ok. but when hermione turned to ron all she did was shake his hand, showing she was a little uncomfortable with hugging ron- i would never hug a guy i liked, that would be too akward (again sp?) for me. also she did kiss ron on the cheek and blushed.
also i think harry will either get with ginny or luna- they both have a lot more in common with ahrry tahn hermione.

*"You two," Umbridge says, gazing down at Fred and George, "are about to learn what happens to wrongdoers at my school."
"You know what?" said Fred. "I don't think we are."
He turned to his twin.
"George," said Fred, "I think we've outgrown full-time education."
"Yeah, I've been feeling that way myself," said George lighty.
"Time to test our talents in the real world, d'you reckon?" asked Fred.
"Definitely," said George.
And before Umbridge could say a word, they raised their wands and and said together, "Accio Brooms!"
"We won't be seeing you," Fred told Professor Umbridge, swinging his leg over the broom.
"Yeah, don't bother keeping in touch," said George, mounting his own.
"STOP THEM!" shrieked Umbridge, but it was too late.As the Inquisitorial Squad closed in, Fred and George kicked off from the ground and shot fifteen feet in the air. Fred looked across the hall at the poltergeist bobbing on his level above the crowd.
"Give her hell from us, Peeves."
And Peeves, whom Harry had never seen take an order from a student before, swept his belled hat from his head and sprang to a salute as Fred and George wheeled about to tumultous applause from the students below and sped out of the open front door into the glorius sunset.*

Well awkwardniss isn't a factor there praticly adults and the awkwardniss has faded. Harry is 16.From 15 and above it's steps and tatics. You ask a girl out you can't feel awkward. You make a move you can't feel awkward.Harry+Hermione might not happen fast, but thier
feelings will grow by book 6 end.

I think Narc, hit it right on the head. The Evidence leads clearly to the fact that Ron and Hermy are made to be together. It's a matter of time before they overcome their differences and make a permenant relationship.i like that too, practically adults, they are turning 16, Harry has only "had a crush" on one girl, and he had just kissed her last year, the relationship failed miserably. Ron and Hermy are always at it with each other, opposites attract. Ron and Hermy spend more time together. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if they are together now, but have been keeping it from everyone including harry. I just tend to wonder how odd it will be when harry has his 2 best friends going out with eachother.

I suggest  reading Sandy's Fan fic: it is intriguing how she works it out.
