I just had a though. That scene where Snape appears to be protecting the kids could have been included in the movie because there was something in it for him? (You know how Snape does something lame, turns it into a big thing and expects loads of credit and respect for it. I could see him useing it on Harry. "I saved your life, you should show me some more respect than this" or something along those lines). Well, you know how they change the movie around from the book so it could happen.

Well, what ever they are doing, I hope it is clearly under the creative control of JKR.  I understand your point.  It is similar to the scene in LOTR where Faramir takes Frodo and Co.. to Osgilith.  That does not happen in the book.  But in discussions with others, we think they had to do it to make several points and connections at one time.  It works, but it diminishes Faramirs character in the process.

I think you are saying that the trailer scene does'nt mean Snape is being shown as protecting Harry because he's good, but for his own selfish reasons. So it would just be a device to eventually show Snape as evil.

I think this is a good point.

Oh why oh why, can't my Sevvie turn out good??? Ever since GoF I've had these grand illusions of him turing out to be this great hero in the end. He would end up doing something selfless and great. He really is gonna turn out to be a baddie, isn't he??!!

Most people think he will be bad. I originally did think he would end up good also. But, now I've seen so much proof I'm holding my opinion for now.

That is exactly what I was trying to say. And I agree fully with what you said above, about hoping that it is all from JKR herself.
