Ok, i have GREAT news!!!! My teeth yanking ceromony is cancelled!!!! And do you know till when??? JANUARY!!!! Yes!!!! *punches arm in the air*

Yay!!! *pulls party popper* But thanks for everyone telling me not to be afraid, etc and giving me their stories. I felt all comfortable with it then my dentist rang me. Apparantly they had to cancel it for some reason, and the earliest time they could get was January! I'm so happy! *throws confettii at everybody and balloons appear everywhere* This calls for an celebration!!!! lol.

Ah, so you're getting teeth pulled in preperation for braces, eh? Well, I had six teeth surgically removed (two of them were molers (sp?) and the rest were all my remaining baby teeth) before I got my braces in too. I was petrified of going to have them taken out as I had never had any kind of surgery at all up until then. (I considered locking myself in the bathroom but didn't, lol). But, I got there, they knocked me out, and when I woke up a few hours later, they had removed all said teeth and I hadn't felt a thing. However, I was painlessly bleeding for a few hours afterwards, but as I said, it was painless. So, don't worry!!! Once it's done and over with you'll see for yourself that it really isn't that bad. Don't be nervous!!!

As for the party in the meantime, party on!

By the way, I would like to echo what Chris said earlier in the thread (sounds kind of wierd to me because my first name is Chris) the later it takes to get the braces in, the longer you have them. They started preping me for mine when I was in the 4th grade. I didn't actually get them in until right before I started 7th grade, and I had them all the way until I was in 12th grade! That's a long time for dental work such as this to go on for. If I had started out earlier I probably wouldn't have had the braces in for a lesser amount of time but the sad fact of it all is that I didn't even see a dentist for the first time until the summer between my 3rd and 4th grades!!! And I am happy to report that despite that fact, I didn't have a single cavity. I've only had 1 cavity my entire life, and that was about a year and a half ago. Anyway, enough about that, don't worry about the teeth yanking and be happy that you're getting your braces in soon instead of years from now when your teeth may become even more messed up than however they are now. Sorry for the ramble, just thought that I would tell you my own braces / dentist / orthodontist story. I'm done now.

Anyway, I too wore braces (for over 2 yrs and a half) adn the dentist pulled out 6 of my precious teeth (only 2 were baby teeth), because my mouth was too crowded. Anyway, it was pretty painless, my dad got me his first (and only) present ever (in case you havent noticed, my dad doesnt give me gifts very often), and now my mouth is perfect!! (you should have seen it before, it was absolutely hideous!)
