My husband and I went to see "Timeline" a few nights ago at our local multiplex.  In the lobby they had an advertising piece for POA.  It was a lamp post from Hogsmeade (it had a 'Hogsmeade' sign at the top) and it had some 'old' ads stuck to it advertising Owls for sale, then it had a holographic wanted poster of Sirius hanging from it.  It was actually sort of clever.  Not the usual movie poster on the wall.  I was surprised to see an ad for POA so far in advance of its release.

Odd, I thought you were a guy too, MadEye. Now the statistics thing makes more sense. Were/are you a pysch major? My wife got her Master's in developmental, then went to work for a market research company in Chicago.

Yeah, that's the poster that has been online for some time. Although online it is a video clip I think and Sirius moves. I haven't seen any posters yet myself, though.

But the fact you seen one didn't surprise me. When The Grinch came out, the movie theater I go to had a HUGE card board display out right before Christmas...the year BEFORE it came out on Christmas. So yeah, it was up for well over a year before it came out, and it was up for ages while it was playing.

Yes! its the moving "wanted" poster you have seen.  The cool thing was that it was an actual lamp post, not a cardboard stand-up.

Yes! I'm a she.  No, I don't have a degree in Psych.  I have degrees in English Lit and Art Education.  I work in Finance for an smallish, niche market, international company.  It's a very male dominated business so I guess I've adapted if you were 'fooled'.

I thought Mad Eye was also a guy, but then we had this discussion a while back where seh said she was a she.

Wait, so the lamp post, was that part a cardboard cutout, because I'm sure they wouldn't go in and put an actual lamp post in...?

Seriously, its like a real lamp post. If I could get one, I'd put it in my rec room.  Hope someone else sees it at their theatre, its quite cool.

The gender thing is really quite interesting.  It this type enviornment, when people are identifying themselves by names that may not be gender specific, you get a picture of the different people you are communicating with which may be all wrong.  I guess you get your mental pic. based on what they say, or how they react.  I think its the same for age, some people here have seemed much older to me then they apparently are.  I think that's a tribute to the level of the discussion here at times.

I picked MadEye, because I loved his character and I like his Mad Eye seeing 360 degrees. In my job, its my responsiblity to "see" a lot of sides of a problem and not get too focused on only one perspective.  (I didn't really put that much thought into it!!!)

Its kind of like when you know a person from school or work and you picure their spouse or sig. other and then you meet that person and they aren't anything like what you pictured.
