Number 2, personally, I have no idea, but maybe some other people on the board do. Probabaly some time at the end of this year (if we're lucky) or more likely, the beginning of next year.

I doubt we will get it that early.....though i hope it......
I think it can't be expected for the next two years, sthis means we have to wait until 2006, damn that woman

She said she wouldn't have it as long as the last book, so it may take a little less time. I'd say probably next year sometime, but probably not before hand.
You really need to tone down the way you are talking to the newbies... Im sorry but its been noticed by a few members that you're jumping the gun in telling them off... sure this post isnt exactly the most riveting of topics, but take it easy - there's no bashing required yet!
and Book 6..... I wont hold my breath, number 5 was a long enough wait!

I think that, although JKR says it won't be as long as OoP, she'll prolly end up making it a bit longer. It had been said in an interview i remember JKR saying that she started book 6 when her son was born. I'm not sure how factual that was, but i don't think it will take as long as book 5. I also like to think that she won't tempt all her fans with a bunch of deadline dates for us all to give up our hopes on. I hear this time she has no deadlines...so to predict i'd say about march of 2005.
I agree with Sandy. I remember a long time ago when i usually came to this board every day, and pretty much liked to call myself a "regular" if i may...people pretty much jumped on the oppritunity to bash newbies that didn't know better. Sure, when a newbie is out of line, theres nothing wrong with a little reprimanding...but to bash everyone that makes a mistake is pretty foolish and i think that some people need to be a little more lenient on how they respond to new people.

I'm sorry I snipped. Hadn't really noticed I had until it was brought to my attention. The mass of new people to the board, has gotten me slightly irritated. I will try and keep my attitude in check from now on. Again, I am sorry for snipping.
doing rounds on all the posts I snipped on earlier
J.K said it would be shorter but she also admitted she was the kind to add so mcuh stuff and kinda make the story 2 times longer than she had thought so it will probably be longer than book 5 but i think itll come out in 2006, and i hope it wont be in too long but still long enough for it too be good. id like it better to come out in 2006 and it be owsome instead of in 2005 and be a bit butcher (sorry for the french again hmm i ment hmmm just not as good quality fast made) so somewhere in 2006 i say

Yeah, that is like JK Rowling to do. Say she is going to make it so long and then once she gets in to it just go all out and make it huge. Order of the Phoenix wasn't supposed to be as long as Goblet of Fire, and we all beleived it until she announced the release date and the page numbers. It was a good amount of pages longer then Goblet of Fire. It's possible she could do the same thing again.
But I also heard that book 7 is going to be like gynormous in comparison to the others. At least she is thinking in reality with that book lmao.
Of course this is probably just a rumour, but i heard the 6th book is supposed to be some where around 700-1000 pages long. but then again i have also heard it is supossed to be around the size of the first and second HP books. As for me, the longer the better!

The longer the better thats not always tru if she drags on too much its going to get boring . i dont care of the size or time it comes out i just want quality! A lon good book is better than a short good one but a short good one is better than a long boring one

Yeah, what Winky just said was true. Longer the better, but if it takes away from the quality then it isn't better at all.
Take OotP for example. The whole book was awesome. But the end ruined the book. It would have been the best in the series, IMO, but the ending was written so sloppy that it took away from the quality of the whole book. I will say that us expecting a major character to die probably made the ending worse. We knew something was comeing. But when it happened, well that was horrible. I mean the way she wrote Sirius off like that, it wasn't like he died, more like he was thrown in some form of alternate universe or dimension. She says he is dead, and that's acceptable. But the way she wrote it, it just wasn't the best way to do it. I mean all though she says he is gone, just give that ending to any creative fanfic writter on the net and they can write him back in rather easily, even though JK says it's a perminate death, if you ask me.
So, use that as an example. All of her other books were great. And this book was great, besides the ending. But her other books she had deadlines for (probably so she didn't have time to go back and screw it up lol!). OotP didn't have a deadline. So it took her a few years. You would think with so much time she could have wrote the perfect book. But with so much time I'm betting she kept changing it around so many times that she probably had something better at one point. Well, my point here is she is refusing a deadline for this book just as she did with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. That right there scears me in to thinking she may do something like that again.
You've got to figure that Rowlings has written pieces of book 6 and 7 as she has gone along through the other 5. In that way, a lot of the next book may be layed out in detail, if not written, more so than the previous books. The story has to focus toward the end now and that means that all the loose ends have to start to come together.
Still, I'm not holding my breath.
