I've notice that there is a connection between the state of the Magical world and the sucsess of the Gryffindor quidditch team. When the team is sucsessful the magical world is in a time of peace and prosperity, at least in England, the rest of the world is not mentioned. When Charlie Weasly was seeker the team did well, as there was a time of peace right before Voldemort rose to power. Weasly left Hogwarts, and the team did not do very well going a long streak without winning the quidditch cup, and Voldemort was at his greatest strength. Harry comes to Hogwarts and thing turn around for the team winning the quidditch cup quite a few times, when Harry was born he also brought the downfall of Voldemort. In OotP the team begins to not do as well, although they still won the cup they lost a game, while during the Ootp Voldemort gains a little more power, but really the ministry is still functioning realtivly smoothly. I'm sorry if this theory has already been posted I haven't been on this board in a while, I just thought the similarities were interesting.

Those are really interseting similarities. I have one concern though, are you sure Charlie Weasly was at school before Voldys reign of power? Then when Weasley left Voldy was at the hieght of his power. I'm definetly not entirely sure of this information, but are you sure you have the time periods right? Hey, maybe I'm wrong but this theory could use some double checking.

I just thought I would through in that Harry only won the cup in year 3 and year 5, not a bunch of times. Slytherin won in year 1. 2nd year finals where called off due to serpent problems, and there was no season in 4th year.

i really like that connection. when you think of the theory as a whole, and don't dissect it and get all nit-pickey, its a pretty well constructed theory...and notice that when voldemort returned and was gaining power once more, in harry's 5th year, he ended up getting a lifelong ban.
When you really think about the big picture and don't get too anal, its a really good theory. Good for you. I've never heard of this before.

No... Gryffindor definitely lost first year (Harry was in the hospital) Slytherin won. Second year Quidditch was called off due to the Basilisk. Third year they won. Fourth year there was no season due to the Tri-Wizard Tournament. and 5th Year, Gryffindor won, but Ginny Weasley was seeker not Harry!
