Sweet. That guy was creepy, yet friendly. Perfect Ollivander.

I had always pictured Ollie more like Geri in that cartoon short by Pixar: Geri's Game (and posted here last week). Older, balder, smaller, meeker, etc.

My problem was I saw the original Scorcerer's Stone before I read any of the books, just to see what all the fuss was about. But because I saw it before I read it, as I read it I had pictures in my head of the descriptions of people. Not that all of them were right obviously. But even as I read the description and thought back about him, I thought he did make the perfect Olivander. Although I never did look at that thing Riley posted about Geri's Game, or whatever it was. Maybe that guy looks better for the part, who knows.

Not really how I picture Olivander. I actually think the actor who plays him is how he should look.

Olivander was great in the SS (the movie). His eyes were so light in color they gave him a very mystical look.   I think several of the secondary characters worked out quite well.  Lucius Malfoy for one.  (Oh! and of course Wood - we all know he's hot - lol)

Yes! I completely agree. The secondary characters were probably better cast then the main characters. Olivander was great, Lucius is perfect, but I am not so pleased with Dumbledore. But for semi main characters that I wouldn't consider secondery characters, I was really pleased with Flitwick, Hagrid, Snape, & McGonagle.

I just found this and thought it was kind of funny...

----------------------

John Hurt ejected from London lap-dancing bar
Harry Potter actor John Hurt - who recently confirmed he will reprise his Ollivander role in GoF - has been
ejected from a London lap-dancing bar for being drunkenly offensive to staff. (Thanks, "JC sugrue"!)

Ha!! Geri (from the Pixar short) would NEVER have done that! Well, okay, he probably couldn't have done THAT.

LMAO Dad Eye!  I guess I had someone more frail in mind, as well, but Hurt was okay.  He wasn't way out of line, so I didn't really register it one way or another.

Of course, Jason Isaacs was sooooo good.
