Well, sicne theories seem to be lagging on the board I thought I'd bring this up for speculation. I stumbled across, while searching for this site one another comp, a site that said that JKR had registered three titles with the UK Patent office
"Harry Potter and the Alchemist's Cell"
"Harry Potter and the Chariots of Light"
"Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Furmat"
I did a little research and countless other sites confirmed that these three titles had been registered. JK, AOL/Time Warner, and Bloomsbury have all dismissed the possibility of an eighth book but have not denied that those tites were registered witht

Well, while anything is possible, I will say that all of the titles of the first 5 books had something to do with the specific plot of the book. They were very directly related. Now, as I said, anything is possible, but off the top of my head, I don't know what pyramids would have to do with any sort of final battle with Voldy. Of course, one usually associates pyramids with Egypt and that country has received a fair bit of ink in the books. We know that Bill worked in Egypt as a curse breaker for Gringotts, the Weasleys all visted him there, and, while visiting, they saw the results of some nasty curses on some unwary tomb robbers. Didn't Hermione also say something about the interesting magic done by ancient Egyptian wizards? Oh, and was the referee at the Quidditch World Cup Egyptian or Indian? I can't remember just now. Still, I would feel like the Pyramids of Fumar (or whatever) would be a stretch.
Egypt has recieved a lot of allusions from JK and I read one source that specualted that the Pyramids of Furmat or whatever was a new title for "the green flame torch" (i looked it up on the patent site. . . also patented) which apparently dealt with ancient egyptian torch that hurt evil and healed good or something to that effect but the title was changed because it gave too much away.
As for the Alchemist's Cell I think it has to do with Nicholas Flamel, i've been expecting him to come back for a long time simply because JK, as we've seen, doesn't just "mention" someone for one book. SIrius was mentioned in book one and came back as a major play in PoA. Figg came back in book 5 after being in 1 and Fletcher came back after being briefly mentioned in 2. I think that Flamel will be the new Potions master (seeing how hes experienced) and Snape will be the new DADA prof.

Wow. I remember we had a huge discussion on this a year or so ago. I'd find it, but I haven't a clue where it is.

Me: Well, i'm going to go. I'm going out for pizza. I just found a toonie on the floor, so why not use it?
Chris: Toonie? What the hell is a toonie?

Well, in all honesty, I was a 12 year old once. Not a dippy stupid 12 year old, but a 12 year old.

Hmmm well, i only came back to the bored after a long period of absence about 6 or 8 months ago so. . .
ANyway, I was trying to figure out where the heck Furmat was when i stumbled across a site witha link to the UK patent office, i typed in HP and got several pages of patented titles, all done either in April 2000 or recently in mid 2003. There are a lot of them that seem to imply something having to do with bloodlines, such as "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" "HP and the Hogsmeade Tomb" "Serpant's Revenge" "realm of the Lion" "Shadow of the Serpant" etc. etc. etc.
Most seem to have allusions to Gryffindor vs. Slytherin, but the Half-Blood Prince seems to make it clear that Harry has something to do with it. Heir and Prince seem to be synonomys.

Hmm, that is always a possibility. Maybe someone should submit that as one of the questions to JK, asking if their are any likelyhoods for the patented titles to be an real title?
If there is any truth to the "Furmat" rumor, we ought to be able to find that term in literature or history. I'm looking but so far, I can't find anything. Given the way Rowlings seems to work, I'd say that "Furmat" would have to mean something.
Hey...FURMAT...Fur Mat..when Crookshanks streches out on the foor, he is a Fur Mat.

ok im new here and i just thought of an awesome end to the harry potter series. Voldemort and Harry r dueling and Voldemort is about to destroy the world. Now if lilys love protected harry from being touched by Voldy what if Harrys love for the world makes it impossible for Voldemort 2 kill any1! Harry begs Voldemort not 2 destroy earth and Voldy kills him. harrys love would make it so voldemort couldnt touch any1

That would be funny! But the reason I doubt it would happen is by the end of the series, I'm betting Harry will have enough built up hostility and anger that killing Harry may actually destroy the world instead of protect it lol!
... dies so that Voldy can't hurt anyone? If you think JKR gets plenty of hate mail from the book burners now, wait until she make Harry be the next Christ!
