A few more questions for JKR

(in humor, my muggle confusion questions)

What happens to Animagi wizard's clothes? Does it transform with them?

Centaurs are considered half-human, half horse. What is the origin to that?

That question brings me to the tradition Giant question. Hagrid asked Maxime if it was her mother or father. CAN it be a father? :S

aaahhhhhh!!!!

I guess one of the questions she gets to answer is "Do you realize that Harry and Co. are riding their brooms backwards..." something to that effect???

How lame! That question has nothing to do with the books! JKR never says which way they ride their brooms. Even if she did have them riding "backwards" (from the Wiccan way) it would be irrelevent because this is the magical world SHE created! Who ever said Harry Potter was Wiccan? How frustrating!

Interesting questions, Narc.  And JKR is not going to answer any of them. (he-he)
The answer to the centaur question is that centaurs are a ditortion of an old folk tale where some wood sprites were battling some mountain folk or something like that.

Let's hope Hagrids question was just an attempt to get the conversation going.  When that issue came up in the books I thought , OMG, this could get pretty strange.

And, are they really going to waste time with that stupid broom riding question?

I'm a little confused about the comment about riding a broom backwards from "The Wiccan way". What does that phrase mean?

I don't know about it being the Wiccan Way, but there seems to be some debate about the bristles being in front of the rider, or in back. Alledgedly, ancient witch customs show the bristles being in front, but the rest of the world has always depicted the bristles being behind.

HeeHee... I really don't want the answers to those...

I've always imagined brooms as bristles at the back.

Narcissa, giant's may just be really unfortunate.

ACTUALLY! We don't have to take that as gross. Coz if it was the father, the woman would have a half giant growing in her stomach... can you imagine the back pains?

Ooohhhhh.... that sounds like the subject of a VERY nasty fanfic.  Ick.

I couldn't believe they would waste time in the interview with a broom direction question.  Sheesh.

What I want to know is how it was set up. Was it a chat room? They said over a thousand questions were asked. (I want to say 1,600, but don't quote me on that.) I mean it couldn't possibly be like a chat room if 1,600 were asked, that would be beyond hectic, that would be hell for JKR. I have no idea how the hell they set it up, but what I would have done if I was in charge of it was make a message board type thing where people submit the questions. Have someone, wheather it be JK or someone else, pick questions from the board and then put it in the chat room and JK answer it. That's what I'd do. I'd let it be so that anyone could view the chat, but nobody could actually chat except the guy reading questions and JK answering them.

Does anyone have any idea how it truly was set up? I find it hard to beleive that it was anyone and everyone ask away in a chat room because it would be so hectic and hard for JK to pick questions. Not to mention I'm sure that a lot of her answers could get lost in the middle of a bombardment of retarded questions (and you can't say that a lot fo them were not retarded lol).

My best guess is that the questions were decided before hand, and only a select group of people were aloud in the chat room to ask the questions... if it was a chat room. That would be the only way to do it truly online. Or, maybe the chatroom would only hold a certain amount of people... say fifteen... and those people would be moderated to when they could speak.

This is merely guessing, but it is the best thing I could think of.

Well when I was younger and was into Animorphs I was in a similar chat with the author of that series KA Applegate (the books were actually good until she stopped writing them and a team of less-talented writers took over) and the way that chat was set up was kind of like a multistoried building. There were several actual rooms in the chat. I think i was in like the 15th room or something along those lines. In the first room was only the moderators and the KA Applegate with the fans being in everyother room. The people in the each individual room could read everything the mods and and KA said but could talk amidst themselves without it being broadcast to the other 10 thousand people in the caht. If you wanted to send in a question u addressed it to the mod by tyhping something like /mod before your question. The computer then randomly selected out of the thousands of questions asked one at a time and the mod viewed it first to ensure it wasn't something like "Will you go out with me" or "What's your address." I think something similar went on with this chat thats my guess anyway.

Hmm, that is an interesting way to do it. That could very well be what happened.

Did you ask that author any questions in the chat? Did the author answer you?

I did send in a few questions but no none of mine were answered in particular, although one of my questions, I believe, was asked by someone else, could be wrong tho. I know all AOL chats with the celebrities are done like this and I assume that the computer probably has some sorting system so that a ? doesnt get randomly drawn twice. Those ar ejust my thoughts tho
