My dad was talking about how in Star Trek, there's a book called "Beyond the Veil" or something like that, and it just means the realm of death. I can't exactly remember what he said. Anyways, though, my dad mentioned something about someone in the books going through the veil and coming back. Do you think we'll see or at least hear Sirius again? Plus, Luna said that she heard voices behind the veil. I just read the part yesterday.
I know he IS dead. JK cried after writing it, and she said you have to be a cold-blooded killer and stuff. Obviously, that means he's gone for good, but maybe Harry will have a chance to have a last word with Sirius, or better, get to talk to "others" that have past, like his parents??? Luna gave us a GIGANTIC clue.
I think Sirius is dead and he won't come back to life. The only time I think we could see him again is if Harry dies and goes to heaven. Also it would be incredibly stupid for Harry to grieve and be sad and then have him come back to life. Although this is a fantasy book JK Rowling has proven that magic can't make everything better. Though Harry is a wizard, he still has to deal with what most teenagers deal with.

Yeah, I don't think Sirius will come back to life, although it's sad because he was one of my favourite characters and he was only REALLY part of the story for two books. But yeah the viel thing with Luna is a huge clue, maybe he will be able to talk to Harry.
Well knowing JKR it's going to be something we totally didn't expect, so there's really no point thinking about it! LOL.

Sirius is gone. IMO the only way we'll see him in future books is in memory. Possibly something alike to the concept of Tom Riddle's diary or some sort of object. But I highly doubt that there will be any way that Sirius will come back in another form.

I don't think we'll see Harry die "and go to Heaven". That would be incredibly cheesy, and I don't want to know what that idiot, Jerry Farwell, would do in protest that a wizard was going to Heaven.
I think we'll learn more about Sirius's past, but he's dead, unfortunately.
And Pinchy, while JKR is desperately now trying to backpedal and say there were great reasons for Sirius's death, after the fifth book was released, she stated that the only reason Sirius died was to show Harry that death could be sudden and unexpected. Of course, that pissed off quite a few fans because it paints Harry out to be rather callous if he didn't learn those same lessons with Cedric's death, so now she's trying to change her story there.

I don't exactly mean "heaven" but there is some sort of afterlife beyond the veil, but I don't know how Harry's going to sneak into the Dept. of Mysteries again to talk to him through the veil, but I'm sure we're going to see the Department of Mysteries again.

I don't see how Harry could see Sirius again in a present capacity. I can't see Sirius being a ghost (and JKR closed that loophole, too), and all Harry saw of his parents were echoes, which I can't see JKR repeating again. I think Harry has his memories, and those who grew up with Sirius have their memories. Penseives can let Harry see Sirius again, but I just don't think we'll be getting anymore meaningful dialogue between Harry and Sirius in the series anymore...
Hence why fanfics are so important...they let Sirius live on and demonstrate to JKR the general discontent the fans had to her actions. It was the fan's discontent that made JKR backpedal on her explanation, so at least she has an idea what the fans feel.
And don't give me any speech about how JKR shouldn't care about the fans or what they feel. She can write the stories anyway she wants. No fan can change that. But good authors at least keep their fanbase in perspective.

Hmm Maybe something to do with paintings?...I have no idea....Maybe a painting of Sirius could communicate with him?....No sounds dumb when I type it out. lol

I want to believe he is coming back, just because I hated the way he died. I honestly think I wouldn't like it to much if he did, after crying over his death. I don't know what's going to happen, it is hard to predict. I though Ron or one of the Weasley's was going to die in the first plase.
Sorry to respond twice in a row but... I think we probably have but I cant remember, it seems like there were some hints in the last book about it... does anyone remember any?

Yes Helen, but JK is the author so therefore she can do that. Ah...the power.

Actually, this is different. JKR has all the power to write in new meaning to Sirius's death in future books. That's her power and no one questions it. However, interviews are different. She can't say one thing, and then completely contradict herself in a future interview and pretend like that last interview never existed.
But she does do that a lot. It's an honest mistake, but if you're going to put yourself in the spotlight where you have millions of fans scrutinizing your every word, you shouldn't be surprised when people are critical when you do make that mistake.

You know what, that painting thing sounds excellent. Maybe Harry should paint a picture of his parents and Sirius so he can have something to talk to. I wonder how the painting thing works.....
I still think we haven't seen the last of him. JKR will get a way to get him back for at least a message to Harry or something. And the veil thing is STILL a huge clue. Gah! I hate thinking!!!!

http://Godric'sHollow.conforums1.com/

I think paintings work like Tom Riddle's diary and the Marauder's Map; the person on the painting has to charm it himself to put his personality in the painting, so I don't think it would work if you'd paint a picture of someone dead.
