I just saw the movie last night and I still haven't decided if it was better than the first two. It was a lot funnier than the other movies and the comedy wasn't corny and there was less comic relief. On the other hand the movie sucked in terms of being faithful to the book. Not only did they add stuff that were completely random (for instance a Jaimican head in the Knight Bus) but also they did the scenes out of order. Harry plays tricks on Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle the first time he goes to Hogsmeade, Harry gets caught by Snape and in trouble with him walking in the corridors at night (somehow Harry forgot his Invisibility Cloak) and other parts I wont ruin. Also they do the Shrieking Shack scenes way too fast. And they never mention that Lupin, James, Sirius, and Wormtail made the Marauders Map. I'd give it 3 and a half out of 4 stars.

I saw it too. Actually I agree with what Michele Lupin said on another thread, that id did come closer to the books then Columbus ever did. Actually if Curon was allowed to have a 4 hour movie I would want to see how he would have done PoA. Because there was a lot left out, and some stuff added in because they had to leave out other things. Like I honestly can't remember in the book why Harry was out at night and got cought by Snape, but in the movie he saw Peter Petigrew on the map and followed him. Basicaly because they cut out the real reason he was out they had to give him a new reason to be found by Snape and Lupin. But he did try harder then Columbus so I'll give him that. But like I said, I think if he was allowed more time (I have no idea who's decision any of that is), then he probably would have stuck really close to the book.

Dicpite the fact about the head on the bus not being in the book, I actually liked that head lol.

Harry never did go out at night to get caught by Snape in the book. He never saw Peter Pettigrew EVER on the map. The only time Harry gets caught by Snape in the book is when he comes in from Hogsmeade and Snape has heard that Malfoy saw Harry's head in the town.

Glad at least I kept to the boycott...although no one else did.
