If Sirius was supposed to appear innocent, then why did he growl at Harry in Mongolia Crescent? (MOVIE)

"Sirius has not acted like an innocent man," Dumbledore. Quote from the book that had nothing to do with this part of the movie but I felt like posting.

Yeah I know wot u mean there is something about him in the film that just doesn't seem rite. Cos in all the posters he is laughing evily, if u were innocent why would u be laughing? And in the book it makes him out to be silent with evil eyes. I don't think the film did this rite but I did think the tattoos were a gd idea

I still don't really understand why he was acting evil, and laughing after Peter killed all of those muggles. I guess he was a little mad (crazy) since Lily and James were killed and everthing was happening so fast for him. Also about slaying/shredding the Fat Ladie's portrait to get to Peter. I know he was waiting 12 years to get to Peter but still.

If I were Sirius I would have gone straight to Dumbledore, and explain everything. Then Dumbledore would have gotten Scabbers/Peter, and everything would be solved. But that just destroys the entire plot.

Sirius had 2 appear mad in the trailers to make people hoo hadnt read the book that he was a baddy! In Lord of the Rings; 2 Towers, the trailers kinda killed the movie 2 those who hadnt read the book as it showd Gandalf in them.

Yeah they had to make the fact he's innocent a twist. But that only works if the audience thinks Wormtail was still dead which they don't. I think he laughed because as Chloe said things were happening way too fast. First of all his best friend who he'd known for 11 years is murdered along with his best friends wife. Another one of his friends who he'd known for 11 years betrayed him. And on top of that he's framed for the crime he didnt do. He's also being framed by a good friend. Since there were so many Ministry workers there he was surely facing a lifetime in Azkaban. Plus some people (like Fudge) think he betrayed his best friends. So I guess all he could do was laugh. His laugh does sound like a bark so maybe it wasnt as menacing as Fudge thinks it is.
I think he was a little insane (who wouldnt be after 12 years in Azkaban?) but he was still a good guy. What I'm wondering is will Sirius have his name cleared in book 6?

...Wouldn't having his name cleared be rather... pointless?

If his name was cleared it would help Harry and others feel better. Say if one of your family members was arrested for a crime that they didn't do, and they are put to death or die a different way. Wouldn't it make you feel better if police find out who the real murderer or criminal is? Another example would be Unsolved Mysteries or America's Most Wanted.

To find out why he was laughing - i suggest you go back and read your books because it tells you why! also there was a thread posted about a week ago on the topic that has explanations.

Didn't they clear Sirius' name at the end of OoTP? I cant for the life of me remember. But I know that DD mentioned something about it to Fudge as they now knew that Peter was alive!

Clearing someones name - alive or dead - is a big thing - its about respect and lifting the shame that was placed on the family/person for something that they were never guilty of!

No, Sirius wasn't cleared at the end of OOtP. Fudge is too pig-headed still. I don't think felons get to have their will read, so that's another bonus if his name is cleared.
