Despite the fact i'm new, im a bore u bout Harry. Ive been hording these ideas 4 ages.

Right, Dumbledore tells Hagrid 2 get giants n Death Eaters go too. but what good is a giant gonna be. Wizard wars would be about stealth. U cant have a battlefield designated for a war like diagon alley etc. Voldermort has already shown his readiness to harm muggles so a war in the midle of a city wouldnt be any skin off his nose. Goblins and Centaurs wouldn't be much help in a war either.

There are barely enough wizards (bad or good) to begin in a war in britain. i don't think this '2nd war' is going to be more like duels like the one we saw in the Department of Mysteries in the Order of the Phoenix.

I think the Second War will have battles like in Lord of the Rings. There must be some kind of wizard army or something. Maybe Ministry members will be drafted? I'm wondering what part Grawp will play in this War.

Hey Tom. Welcome. Before people start yelling at you about it, read the rules for newcomers and cut down on the internet typing. I don't think the war will be like LotR, though. I think The DE will attack at random times at random people. That way they won't be caught as easily by Aurors.

I think it would be very dramatic to see Voldemort and his DEs walking through a Muggle city taking out their wands and blasting everything in their way. It would be perfect mayhem for the Ministry trying to catch him and erase the memories of the Muggles who saw him doing it. I think the War could also work like that.

I think it will be much more calculated than a full blown war. Voldemort is still vulnerable, even his Death Eaters.... imagine one goes on a power trip and decides he wants to be in charge. Death Eaters are untrustworthy and powerhungry. So in effect, Voldemort needs to conduct the war in a very strategic way to get what he wants but still keep his 'loyal followers' happy at the same time.

as for not having enough witches and wizards for a war.... who said war had to be on a mass scale?

Also, Voldemort is feared all over the world, I'm sure England would have the support of other countries.

And to be quite honest, I'd rather have a giant on my side than to have one against me! They may not be the stealthiest of creatures, but the strength and size is a bonus from the start. Remember in PS/SS - it was said that not many full grown wizards could handle a mountain troll, let alone a few 1st years? Imagine a giant..... very handy to have around I think!

I beleive that the 'war' will be more of a terrorist action, not a huge battle.  Wizards don't gain anything by making themselves known to the muggle public.

I also think Dumbledore's thinking in getting the giants was simply to get as many allies as he can. Like someone pointed out, he'd rather have a giant with him than against him. Or he could have known the quest for their support would fail, but as the old saying goes, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
