1. Macnair the executioner. When he was sharpening the axe I noticed he had a bunch of tatoos - particularily a black one on his left forearm - but as I tried to see if it was the Mark - the shot was gone and it showed his arms later completely untattooed.

2. When Harry first looks at the map there's a lot of names walking about. The one I noticed was Newt Scamander (author of either Quidditch through the ages or Magical Creatures) - can anyone watch for the other names when they see it again?

3. The heads telling the kids no minors in the pub. Proof that the book wasn't read and proof that these people didn't research britain, because as far as I know - minors are allowed in the pubs providing they do not consume alcohol. And even if that's wrong - they ARE allowed in THAT pub for Butterbeer!

4. Harry and Hermione still can't act. Noticed it before too, but on the second time around...

5. Jay pointed this one to me: Sirius saying "Harry, how can I repay you?" then kneeling down in front of him seemed a little too something from AFF.net.

6. Why was Forest Gump's shrimp boat friend there with them suddenly?

Jay wanted to see it - I didn't really want to again but he said we'd Imax it so I agreed. Always wanted to see an Imax.

Very clever with the Newt Scamander thing. Maybe he is another Animagus or maybe a teacher who changed their name? Perhaps he was just visiting Dumbledore? Why do you think he was there? Could this have been an important clue?

Maybe the shrimp boat friend was Dean? Remember what JKR said on the website about Dean's history being cut?

I HATED the way that Harry found out about Sirius (in the pub) - When reading that part in the books, it really grabbed a hold of me, JKR wrote it in a way that made you feel what Harry was feeling.

Same with the Shrieking Shack scene, It was meant to be emotionally charged and have you on the edge of your seat trying to find out what was going on.

But no, there was none of that.... just a gay Lupin and a Sirius with stick on tattoos! (and Peter.... Ewwwww!)

I didnt see the tattoos on McNair BUT doesnt the dark mark not show until Voldemort summons them? otherwise they would be showing off their allegiance to Voldy.
Wasnt McNair one of the ones who swore he wasnt a deatheater? If the mark was visible all the time, then it would be obvious he was....
But then again, in the movie anything is possible - it was all wrong!!

Huh? When did the shrimp guy appear in the movie? What did I miss?

I thought the Dark Mark was always there and it just got bigger or started glowing or something when Voldie came back. But that's probably just an assumption. Anyone like to look it up in the book?

Great thinking with the name on the map. Could be a clue... or the director just picked random names and thought that the author of whichever book might as well be at Hogwarts.

Okay... There are two pubs in hogsmeade - The Hog's Head and the other pub where the kids met for the first DADA meeting in book 5.
(btw: I just recently completed a course about how a pub works and the rules and regulations regarding minors in areas where alcohol is served)
Alot of pubs simply have a no minors allowed past this point rule - while other may be accompanied by an adult. Perhaps this section, where they wished to enter was off-limits to minors. Heck - it's an imaginary town, they could have their own damn rules.

I reckon the reason Ron + Herm were rejected, was so he could do that shot of them sitting close to each other on the bench outside in the snow.

mmmmmmmm beer... thanks for reminding me.

Actually the Hog's Head is where they have the first DA meeting in book 5. The only time it is ever mentioned before is by Hagrid in book 1. Otherwise all the other times they went to a pub it was the Three Broomsticks.

And it was Rosemerta's pub - the Three Broomsticks - that wouldn't let Ron and Hermione in the front door because of the stupid heads. It was the Three Broomsticks that they always go to for a butterbeer in Cannon. I wish someone would chop off Cuaron's head.

Narc, I saw POA again today.  I watched for the tatoos.  He has two on  each arm, but the camera never stopped long enough or close enough to see what they were.  They did not seem like the right shape.

I saw something else that I missed the first time.  In the Leaky Cauldron, there is a wizard reading "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawkings.  For those who don't know, its a book written by a physicist about the theory of time.  Actually kind of clever since the book is partly about the time turner.

Saw it again.

Liitle dangling heads at pub said:
"No schoolkids allowed in today" [or something to that effect]

So I guess the 3 broomsticks (after i realised rosmerta was there nailing something up on the wall) must be able to have an adults only session.

what ticked me off - was harry, ron and hermione all standing about 10metres away listening to mcgonagal, rosemerta and fudge chatting... Harry isn't even meant to be in hogsmeade, and wouldn't people be suss if some schoolkid just through a cloak over themselves and disappeared??

oh yeah - the steven hawkins thing... i laughed at that.
