if the dursleys disliked harry so much, why did they go through the trouble of taking him to the optometrist and getting him glasses?

It's just one of their obligations of keeping Harry alive and healthy, I guess. Besides, they can't very well have him walking around their house blind, can they? He might break something, burn the food while he's trying to cook it, or something like that. Plus, it was probably recomended that he get glasses by a teacher or something.
