if ( though i know that this would never happen ) somebody wrote books about forgein wizards from the exact same wizarding world, just in a different school and country.
which country would you like written about?????????????

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An odd feeling rose in Harry -- an emotion quite differnt from the anger and greif that had filled him since Sirius's death. It was a few moments before he realised that he was feeling sorry for Luna.
"How come people hide your stuff?" he asked her, frowning.
"Oh...well..." She shrugged. "I think they think I'm a bit odd, you know. Some people call me 'Loony' Lovegood actually."
Harry looked at her and the new feeling of pity intensified rather painfully.
"That's no reason for them to take your things," he said flatly. "D'you want help finding them?"

Like anyone would cut anything for Mcdonalds.... yucko!

Even if it were set in the US - it doesnt mean that they'd put McDonalds in it, or any other typical US store. I mean The UK has Mcdonalds and stuff, but they dont include those. They hardly make mention of muggle stores, the focus is on those of the wizarding world.

I, personally would like to read about Durmstrang, simply because they are rumoured to focus on the dark arts... that would make for good reading.

Maybe not even in a country, but on a remote island in the middle of nowhere. Where magical creatures could be wild and stuff.Although that would make it quite hard for there to be a McDonalds.

We're bound to hear about McD's soon. I mean with Dudley in the story I wouldn't have it any other way.

And for all you skeptic's, I'll have you know that I would definatly ditch Wizarding School for some McDonalds. I mean you're there ten months, what's a couple of hours. And it can't be constantly exciting, we all know that. And I'm sure Fred and George would too. Plus half the fun would be everyone stering(sp) at you. But that is only fun when you got a friend. So I'd ditch in a group if I could.

Well, I think we learened Hogsmeade is the only wizerding city in Britin, which would make it not so comom. I would think it wouldn't be that comon elseware either. But, then again it is JK's world to decide upon. And as for spells keeping them in, well that depends on the rules and regulations of the school, and how the wizerding laws in the country work. I mean they may consider it a form of imprisonment or something if their are spells preventing you from leaving. It all depends on situations.

Now, I can stand McDonald's once in a great blue moon. Actually I'm found of their breakfast menu to be honest. But lunch/dinner is a once in a while thing.

Now, I will say that an American school would interest me, just because I know what students are like since I just graduated high school a few years ago, and to see rejects like them at a magic school... it would be a fantasy world's version of a drug infested sopopera!

What I would like to see would be schools from Ireland (like leoprachauns lol, plus I'm Irish, and I've always wanted to go there), Egypt (I have always been fasenated with Egyption Mythology, and I've always wanted to visit there), Greece & Rome (same with the Mythology for both, plus the land is so beautiful there), Itily (mostly because I'm Italian and would like to see some form of Italian Wizerding Mafia LOL), and lastly China (they keep their students so well diciplened and educated, I'd like to see it compared to wizerding world who don't neccecerily study things that muggles study, and again with the I want to visit it thing lol).

Hermione - McDonalds is the most vile tasting food I have ever put in my mouth! Not only is it extremely unhealthy, it is so processed that it doesnt even taste like real food anymore!

To those of you who can remember - think back 10 years ago, what McD's tasted like - and tell me its the same these days... all those preservatives and additives compensated for with a ton of lard!
DISGUSTING!

Yeah, they definatly changed over the past years. Now I can't remember exactly what things tasted like 10 years ago...since I was literly 10 then...but I know I don't like it as much and that's for sure. But once in a while I don't mind it. Just not a lot of it.

And what the hell is up with their orange juice? It comes from one of the fountian machines! I want real juice, not something you mix in store that tastes like water with a hint of orange! That pissed me off!

My point exactly - its all fake food.

Juice that comes out of a packet that they mix with water, the apple pies dont have real apples in them (ever heard of a choko? eaten one? no - eaten an apple pie from McD's?? then you have!)

I remember eating McD's all the time and absolutely loving it... now, I cant even stomach to walk past and smell the grease burning!

Real food or not, I still don't mind it once in a while. I don't know why, because you're right, it's not real food in most of the products, but I just don't mind it.

Okay, dropping McDonald's, I think a school in the middle of a rainforest, like maybe in Brazil, would be an interesting thing to read about.

Uh...no, I'm not from Oz? About the Irwin thing, I was watching his show, and it was the one where it shows all his injuries. There was one where a crocidile bit him, and he kept on saying, "it was not his fault, it was my fault I didn't secure his jaw rope, even though it was him who decided to bite me." I'm giving the guy 5 more years of life before an animal takes him out.

For one - it's IRAQ you are at war with, NOT Iran. Mcdonalds kills more Americans a year than terrorists with their high cholesterol and salt levels. There's a sign on every American McDonalds that says "Over a billion served" - so while not ALL Americans eat there - magority of them have tried it at one point or another. Most Muslims believe in peace. THere's a small handful of extremests and believe me, they do NOT think for the majority. I think the ratio of Muslims:Terrorists would be less that the ratio of Americans:FBI agents. Do NOT give me that crap.

Wheather or not the McDonald's thing was steriotypical or not, most people read it as a not so serious issue, more of a joke and they delt with it. But the other thing, that was discrimination. Deal with it and grow up. Discrimination got others banned here, so don't be surprised if you people get a message of SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT!

lol Narc... you say you guys cant afford war - us Aussies just couldnt be bothered... Sure our boys are over there helping but the general consensus here is that if there's a war going on - let it happen, its got nothing to do with us!

and Krep - yes you are very much entitled to your own opinion, however, what you said is based on very limited and extremely biased knowledge about that country. It was very discriminative and inaccurate.

As for the McD's comment - I just want to point out, that it wasnt me who actually said that they would go to McD's - I was just voicing my opinion on the fact that I thought McD's was disgusting and I personally wouldnt eat it. However if you read the post carefully - there was no stereotype cast out at any Americans for eating McD's - simply because its an international franchise, we have loads of them over here too. But the whole issue was just saying how it would be weird if wizards would cut school to visit there!

Firstly - we can talk about whatever the hell we want on this forum - its not strictly a HP forum, and you would know this if you actually bothered to read the "Advice to Newcomers" post or even looked at the history of the board - there have been many political debates, so dont you come here and tell people what they can and cannot talk about - especially since you have not even been here a fraction as long as other members!

Secondly - how is seeing terrorism, war and death on TV a luxury? Every single person in this world has been affected by terrorism, be it directly or indirectly, so we ALL hold first hand opinions!
But your problem is, you crap on about a whole country as if everyone from there is the same. You are painting each and every person with your 'terrorist brush' - that is why everyone thinks you're an ass!

I've decided to call you Krap instead of Krep from now on - simply because thats what you're well and truly full of!

the problem with you, as with many oter people, is that they think they are experts on things they see on the 6 o'clock news.

Islam says that if you are a non-muslim, then you are a non believer, and unless you convert to islam, you are punishable by death. if you live in the US, then Iranians have a name for you. they call you "the big devil". nice isn't it? JKR could use it in HP.

well, LMM. ever seen a blown up bus with dead bodies in it? want a description of what happens to the human body when it's hit by explosives? ever seen people murdered because of their ideas and beleifs? try to think back on sept 11. what's the reason thousands of people die? do you understand? maybe you can enlighten me.

Iran and Iraq and Saudi arabia are muslim countries that hold fanatic beleifs. you can realize that, and look reality in the eyes, or you can close your eyes, and dream of brotherly love, and the happiness of man kind just like in the good-old 60's. than one morning you'll wake up to unbeliveable tragedies like sept.11.

my advice to you, LMM, is to take your head out of your ass and smell the napalm. you live in a fantasy world.

and about the politics comment i made: someone here suggested it before me, and i simply agreed. it's just because i hate dissucssing things with people who don't understand nothing but still think they're experts.

1) NOBODY EVER ****ING CLAIMED TO BE AN EXPERT ON ANYTHING SO STOP PUTTING WORDS IN OUR MOUTHS!

2) I do not claim to be an expert on any political stand what so ever. But to say every single person in a country beleives the same thing, well it's just comon sense that isn't true. No matter how strong the beleif is in the country. Not everyone beleives it. That was the whole point of saying your coments were and are discrimatory. Some people may be as bad as you call, or even worse. Nobody's denying it. But you are saying everyone there is. That was how people read what you said, and that was clairly the intent of your words as well seeing as you have made no point of correcting yourself at all. What we are calling discrimatory is you calling everybody a certian area something. It's possible some are, possible a good number of people are. I don't watch the news as often as I should. I don't follow polotics at all. But to say everyone in any single country is a terrorist is just obsured. It is extremely unfair to the people in the country who are not like that. That is the discrimination of it, you're taking your coments to everyone when not everyone is like that.

3) Okay, so you hate discussing things with people who don't view things the way you view them. Well I'm prety sure everyone here already thinks of you as an idiot, and I've had other people off the board agree with me. So just because you hate it, does that mean we can hate it? If so then why don't you save us the agrivation and get the f*** lost because not many people here actually like you!

The REAL Muslim religion is based on peace. In their REAL bible it is written that they are never to harm women, children, and are not to chop down a tree if there is so much as one green leaf on it. They cherish life, and only fight if forced. The extremists are the Koran - who rewrote their bible to madness. Why don't you get a grip on history if you're going to talk about it? The 60s? Are you for real? You're watching too many sitcoms kid, the sixties weren't about peace - and I hate to tell you - but there were a LOT of hippie extremeists that resorted to extreme violence to "protest their cause".

If that isn't a wake up call, why not take a look at the "pro Life" people who bomb abortion clinics in Florida (That's a state, btw - in the US)
He wasn't a Muslim, he was a catholic.
Hitler was a Protestant, he killed more people that the Middle East holds. Are all Germans racist Nazis? Are all people Pro Life murderers? No. It's a small group of fanatics that change the rules.

i never said every iraninan or iraqi or saudi are evil. i said iraq iran and saudi arabia are evil.
i agree not all people in these countries are the same.
BUT what you fail to understand is that you are dealing with a different culture. a culture in which the individual, in effect, is insignificant. you are looking at this from the liberal democratic point of view of which you were raised in.
for example, in islam there is the concept of blood reveange. let's say someone from x family kills someone from y family. according to islam, y family must take revange on x family. that means kill someone from x family. anyone from x family. it could be 5 minutes from the murder, a year, or even 3 generations later. nice culture, ha? not necesseraly take revange on the murderer, but a member of his family. the individual is not important. the x family may order 50 years later one of their family to kill soeone from y family. doesn't matter who, and no matter what happens to to aveanger. THER IS NO INDIVIDUAL, THERE ARE NO INDIVIDAUL RIGHTS, THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANCE OF ONE'S WISHES, DREAMS, PERSONAL BELIEIFS.

DIDN'T YOU EVER WONDER WHAT MOTIVATED THE KIDNAPPERS ON SEPT.11 TO KILL MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE? OR FOR THAT MATTER, HOW COME THEY COMMITTED SUICIDE JUST TO KILL AMERICANS? WHY? because they are INSIGNIFICANT. ONLY KILLING NON-BELIEVERS IS IMPORTANT.

so YES, IRAN is an EVIL place, iraq is an EVIL place, SAUDI ARABIA is an EVIL place.

and about everyone thinking i'm an ass. i really couldn't care less what you all think. my worries are if i'd get blown up on a bus on my way home or not, and not what a stupid f***er on HP forum thinks of me.

come spend some time here with me, give it a week and see it my way. and don't forget to bring a kevlar suite.
it's a lot more dangerous than Australia, where your biggest worry is farting sheeps.

Ordinarily I'd delete this but I want everyone to see how stupid you truly are - your capitalizing shows it without having to even read a word. As of now any new posts you make will be deleted because you are a biggoted asswipe.
Their countries are not evil. People were corrupted. and NEWSFLASH: Iraq had nothing to do with Sept 11!! Neither did Iran! You want to talk an eye for an eye? Bush has deemed them guilty by association without ANY evidence to support his thoughts on "weapons of mass destruction" and "terrorism". That had nothing to do with the countries - that was Osama Bin Lauden, who was freaking exiled from his own country! He was in Afghanistan and Pakistan, not Iran or Iraq. So are all these Iraqis getting murdered deserving it? The Palastinian children we're seeing with half their torsos blown off in the newspapers? And what about OUR CANADIAN SOLDIERS who were bombed by the bloody Americans in a freindly fire zone?! HUH?! OOOPS! You idiot! Get your ****ing facts straight.
