I was thinking...and maybe Harry isn't 'The Chosen One'. Both him and Neville fit the descriptions in the proficy. Maybe JKR will end up taking him along the 'quest' too? Maybe Neville will assit Harry in his hour of need....who knows at this point? just wanted your comments...thanks...

IT SAYS IN THE BOOK THAT VOLDYTHING HAD TOO CHOOSE AND HE DID.... THEREFORE HARRY IS THE ONE. THE ONLY REASON THAT THE PROPHASY WILL BE FUFILLED IS BECAUSE VOLDYTHING KILLEDHARRYS PARENTS, THEREFORE MAKING HIM WANT TO KILL HIM. WE CHOOSE TO MAKE PROPHASIES HAPPEN.

I want to add to the fact that Dumbledore made perfectly clear that everyone was putting to much into the prophesy. There is no 'Chosen One' the only reason Harry has to kill Voldemort or Voldemort has to kill Harry is in their own heads... technically neither HAS to kill the other, except for the fact that they both hate each other so much.

Am I the only one who remembers that there is no chosen one? I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive that when Dumbledore explained the prophecy he explained that the only reason the prophecy would be true was b/c neither Harry nor Voldemort could live with themselves if they didnt kill the other...everyone is making a big deal about 'the chosen one' in book 6 b/c they need the comfort of knowing that someone somewhere may help them.

The only people who said he was 'chosen' were involved in the ministry and i think Harry only said he was the 'chosen one' to mess with the minister...i really think there was a LOT of sarcasm there....Harry is just a regular kid, with a bad past he was 'chosen' (for lack of better word) by Voldemort, sealing his own fate, he was not born to kill Voldemort but he is capable of it, but anyyone else is capable of it as long as the horcruxes are destroyed, b/c then he would no longer be immortal. So i say again, he isnt 'the chosen one' he is just one of the only people who knows exactly how to kill Voldemort and has the guts to do it.

now i saw no where in that whole conversation where he actually said he was the 'Chosen One'....later Dumbledore tells him this:
page 512
"but sir, it all comes down to the same thing, doesnt it? Ive got to kill him. or-"
"Got to?" said Dumbledore. "Of course you've got to! But not because of the prophecy! Because you, yourself, will never rest until you've tried! We both know it! Imagine, please, just for a moment, that you had never heard the prophecy! How would you feel about Voldemort now? Think!"
"I'd want him finished" said Harry "And I'd want to do it"
if you go back and read it....there's more....but unless im reading that wrong, and i dont think i am, then Harry isnt the 'Chosen One'

i think that in some ways he is the chosen one and in others hes not
I mean technically he is the chosen one b/c voldemort CHOSE him as the ONE to mark as his equal
but then againas said b4 anyone could kill voldemort
but then again b/c he was chosen by voldemort as his equal harry shares a bond with him, including the scar so harry has some advantage overothers who try to kill him
but then again he might have been born and had extreme talent and set off to kill voldemort without there being a reason except he has that thing for saving people
