The Goblet of Fire was my favourite. So much happened. Very hear provoking. Sirus dieing. Surprsed me. As in the latest book we were told one was going to die. I think we all suspected dumbledore. Harry is supposed to be the greatest wizzard of all time. That just can't be with Dumbledore still alive.

i agree. I loved this 1, because it added so much detail to the story, but I still luv luv luv PoA. I also think that OotP was just a connection kind of story. I dont think that it was that good. (I just think that because Sirius "died")

Book 6 was a disaster. The horcux idea is so dumb, and not very well planned out. She left herself no material for the 7th book except searching for Horcruxes, since he has to find I believe 5 in one book, and find out how to destroy tham, and he has no information to go on. Therefore, the 7th is going to be just another adventure book that is some stupid quest. Hogwarts is the base that makes Harry Potter so different and popular, since we can all relate to that sort of setting, and no other fantasy book has ever really approached on that school sort of setting. With no Hogwarts, there is no Harry Potter, and With no Malfoy, there is no Hogwarts. So even if she did put Hogwarts into book 7, How boring will Hogwarts be without Malfoy? There's no story. Everyone's gone. The Weasley twin, Malfoy, Snape, and Dumbledore were the main core characters that defined Hogwarts, and she can't possibly write about Hogwarts without them. Also, the whole book is written as a screenplay for a movie. Most topics are glazed over, and not explained well enough. The only good thing about book 6 was Dumbledore dying. That's the only plot line that really left some doors open. Oder of the Pheonix was the best book, in my opinion. It truly tied the others togather and left a firm foundation for a 6th and 7th book. However, it was completely wasted, in all its beauty, by the catastrophy that was Half Blood Prince. It's a pity.

I completely agree with pretty much everything you said. I also believe that Book 5 was the best out of the 6, and that Hogwarts was the foundation for the series' intrigue and success. I am also not excited at the prospect of Harry simply wandering around destroying the remaining Horcruxes, as I don't believe it will make that much of a novel. I think I should add that there were also many sub-plots that JKR laid groundwork for in previous books that she didnt even mention in the 6th, which really disappointed me, as I doubt she'll be able to clean everything up in Book 7. I expected more answers to questions already established in the mythology. While Voldemort's history and the Horcruxes really came out of left field, JKR did nothing to add to the many plots and mysteries she had already built.
You seem to know what you're talking about, and I couldn't agree more. You really should check out the DOM (s8.invisionfree.com/Dept_of_mysteries). You should be able to initiate a lot more conversation on the subject there.

I second his offer. This used to be a fantastic Harry Potter Discussion Board, before we moved to the board Justin just mentioned. Over there you will find legitimate, intelligent discussions, unlike what this board has become. I've noticed several posts of yours today, and they seem to stand out above the typical drivel seen here lately.
It really is a shame what this once great board has become.
The new board again, is http://s8.invisionfree.com/Dept_of_Mysteries
