Does anybody think that we will see more of this mysterious RAB he did destroy one of the horcruxes but do you think he got more OR will get more

I think the Regulus A. Black could be him but he was killed so if it is him he has done all he could

It could be an unknown character that could in the next book beat harry to all of the horcruxes

Or Harry could find this person and team up with them

Any other ideas?

If it is Regulus we found out in OoTP that they found a locket in a drawer with initials on it that WOULD not open for them it could be a hocrux but if it is you would think it would have a curse on it

Who has any ideas?

which chapter was that in? Because if they had found a necklace that wouldn't open, then that's another thing that points to regulus

Where does it say in the Order of the Phoenix that there is a locked locket in drawer? Is it in Sirius' house? Please I need to know.

There was a locket in Sirius' house that none of the people cleaning could open. It's mentioned in the Order of the Phoenix on pg. 116. If it was a Horcrux, I don't know why there wasn't a curse on it, unless RAB took it off.

After reading about the note in the fake locket from RAB i thought for ten minutes who it could be and I think it is Regulas Black, and that he took it to no. 12 Grimmauld Place!! so Harry might find it when he goes there next. The page where there's a heavy locket in a drawer that they couldn't open is on page 108!

RAB could also be Borgin/Burkes (no idea what first names they would have) from that store in Diagon Alley because Voldemort seemed to have a past with them.

Any one have any other good thoughts on this?

also the fact that RAB will be a good point in the 7 book makes me think that it may be some one who is still alive therefore not being regulus

I defiantly think that RAB is Reginald Black. For starters, look at the note. It was addressed to the Dark Lord. In OoP, Harry pointed out to Snape that only his Death Eaters call him that. Plus, they never did say if they found any remaining bits of Reginald.

I cannot wait the 2 years it will take for the next book!

JK Rowling never ceases to amaze me and, quite apparently, everyone who reads the Harry Potter series. Therefore, she would not make it obvious to who RAB is. This is all guessing and for all we know there is someone out there named Ryan Arthur Beihriner. She plans this all out, and judging by the way the books have turned out so far, she doesnt seem to think people will be guessing who is who and who did what and who is good and bad. That is indeed, what makes her such a great author.

any other thoghts?

I agree there are strong points about Regulus Black. Many good reasons. Except there is a problem. HE IS DEAD! And died so long ago. How could he put the fake locket.

We dont know how long the fakle locket was in there it could have been 20 years for all we know making it possible for anyone to have done not just regulus but regulus looks like a good person for it to because of his name most of us think that it is him but if that is true he is not alive making it hard to use him in the story so i think that it is possible that it could also be an unknown character

Am I not right in thinking that the mysterious RAB has to be dead? I would have to read that part again to swear on it but does it not say 'by the time you discover this I will be dead?'

it says in the fake locket that the person who found it (RAB) will be dead long before the Dark Lord could find the horcrux. hence, Sirius's brother

Luna's evidence that Regulus didn't die

According to Luna's quirky newspaper in Order of the Phoenix (p.192-193), someone who looked just like Sirius was alive the night Sirius supposedly killed 13 people. Could this be Regulus? Sirius said Regulus died around the same time Harry was born. Yet a year later, there is this report that a Sirius look-alike (Regulus) was alive and well, but that he was going by the name Stubby Boardman and had retired from public life one year prior, the same time Regulus "died" (sounds like a man in hiding). Sirius had no details about his brother's death and could not even say who killed him. Could Regulus have left the Death Eaters around Harry's birth, stolen the Horcrux, gone into hiding, and either still be alive or die later? I think he will be a key to getting Sirius out from behind that veil in the 7th book.

That's a good theory, and so maybe ur right and Regualas is still alive, but how would he have escaped Voldemort and his death eaters?

siriusisalive, you are a brilliant, brilliant person. The first person I thought of when RAB came up was Sirius's baby brother, and he did do something to make Voldy hate him, etc. I'm thinking that it might have been kinda hard for him to escape, too, but I'm going to try to think positively...

Wow!! How nice it is to be back after... what? A year?
I see a lot of new faces and very few old ones...

But all the same, I am positive it is Regulus. I mean, i always thought there was more to him than just the idiot man who was so coward he got killed. And the initials aren't a coincidence in my opinion, and neither the locket reference in OotP.

So, yes, I'm pretty sure it's him...

JKR said she something about RAB in the mugglenet interview like she was surprised that it wasn't obvious or that if we read carefully through the other books we'd see who it was. Anyway, I am about 90% positive it is Regulus Black. He might be dead and he might not, but we dont really know. Sirius only said he was killed, but he might be wrong.
