I think there's a possibility that it is sirius's brother. Regulus A. Black. It's the only possibility that makes sense. the innitials fit and we know that the person had to be a death eater, because they call voldemort the dark lord in the locket and we know that Regulus Black was a death eater.

I forgot about them finding a locket they couldn't open in Book 5. And they threw it away??!! Well, as it also said in Book 5, Kreacher stole things out of the trash, so I'm sure he took that, too, and Harry will find it when he searches the house.
Of course, JKR will probably make us suffer through half the book before Harry and the gang find it.

As they were throwing things away, and kreacher saving a lot of really nasty things, it is very possible that the locket remained in the black house.
UNTIL Mundugus fletcher started looting the house. As the locket is not described a lot in book 5, but is in book 6, it is save to image that if they are the same locket, the description in book 6 is enough. This means that the locket is made out of (?) silver, and has the slytherin logo on it, as mundungus probably knows a good deal when he sees it, he probably stole it and sold it.
In my opinion, mundungus will not have sold it to Burke and Borges, but to a person which has not been mentioned yet, or one which has not played a big part in the previous books, because otherwise the search of the horcruxes would be just a walk in the part (en the 7th book would be as thick as "magical creates, and where to find them"

I think it is in the Black house because Kreacher saved it. Harry will have destroyed all the others and cant find the last one and then he will discover it BOOM right under his nose. I could see JKR doing that.

1. this would take careful re-reading.
2. she says "found by a re-reader of th 'books' with an s...plural"
3. when she wrote it in book 5 she knew it would be fun, and she put it there for her own self-enjoyment.

I was thinking about Amelia Bones... i'am not sure, but i thik she was murdered on book 5 or 6..

In OotP it mentions Rudulpha and his brother Rabastion either one of them could be RAB cause they were both death eaters. teel me what you think.
