OK,, regarding Dumbledore's portrait. Why was it a painting of him sleeping? Is there some sort of waiting period before they can converse? Personally, I don't buy Dumbledore's "death". Besides the portrait issue, you never see what is under the covering Hagrid carries out. We just assume it's Dumbledore's body.

Another thing is the way Snape was trying to "teach" Harry while fighting. He kept hinting to Harry to work on his Occlumency. So, did he really kill Dumbledore? I have serious doubts and I also think Snape is worth Dumbledore's belief. JMHO

Ok so we all want to believe that both of the really main characters that have died so far are not dead. Like me. I really don't think serius is dead. they never found his body so they never can really say he is dead. And apart from Serius, DD was my favorite character. I want so badly to believe that he is alive but I just don't believe he is. I mean Hagrid said he moved the body. What do you think?!? Hagrid chucked the Alive DD into his hut and burried so dummy? I don't think so. And why do all the cool characters die in a series like this just to save a whinny little PMSing brat like Harry? Come on!

Sorry everybody, but this is directly from JKR, herself.

She says this about writing Sirius' death in book five: JKR: "Yeah. Well I had re-written the death, re-written it and that was it. It was definitive. And the person was definitely dead. And I walked into the kitchen crying and Neil said to me, 'What on earth is wrong?' and I said, 'Well, I've just killed the person.'

Dead.

Dead.

Dead.

To repeat.

He's dead.

Do you really think an author [a GOOD author] who has cried and agonized over a death of a character in her book, that she wrote, would suddenly change her mind?

And just because I disagree with you... you tell me to shut up? That's mature.

One of the marvels of JKR's storytelling is that she is not trying to sugar coat a little thing called REALITY. She would not sell out or change her agenda which has been in the works for YEARS because of some fans taking a serious hissy-fit that a favourite character of theirs was killed off.

There is actually another lesson in his death. Maybe post what you think that could be.

I am just as unknowing as everyone else, yep. And you're right, I do not know what is in her head. I certainly do not go around acting like I know everything. Are you getting that from just my one post? LOL But I do have enough sense to understand from her own statements about Sirius, that he is dead. You must admit yourself that you ALSO do not know what is in JKR's head. You made a statement. I made a statement. It doesn't matter who is right. I could tell you to shut up too, but this is a discussion board and I would never do such a thing. EVERYTHING IS OPEN FOR DISCUSSION.

Why are you getting so bloody emotional about my opinion? It's ridiculous. I see you didn't even try to answer the question I posed to you.

Of course we can agree to disagree

That's much better than fighting. Although I wasn't aware that we were, really. Have a good one.
