Chainlink has been a member of this forum for years. Since the moderators abandoned this forum due to lack of resources and taken up shop at the Department of Mysteries (s8.invisionfree.com/Dept_of_mysteries), the quality of this board has drastically deteriorated from that of a year ago. If you would like to see for yourself feel free to browse some of the topics around page 50. This was once a thriving internet community that has been reduced to a sounding board for 12 year olds to share some of the most blatantly obvious aspects of the Harry Potter mythology. This is what Chainlink means when he says this place has "gone to the dogs". Although I appreciate you defending the site I thought I would explain to you the basis for his statements.

yes, i do understand that the comments and theoris ere a bit more..well....thogutful and had more depth last year (i remember)..but you still ahve to give these people a break. we r between books. there isnt enough to talk about anymore becauselast year when the book first came out, we all talked ourselves to dearth about our theories and asking each other various questions about the book. there really isnt much to talk about until more news about the upcoming book is realeseed

I understand what you're saying, and again, I appreciate you defending the forum. Obviously traffic will be slower between books, but regardless the quality of posting here is not what it used to be. The moderators of this board established a new forum last year when it became obvious that the resources available through this site were not adequate enough to maintain the thriving internet community that was once here. After the move this board was home to an influx of new members of an obviously younger age group and (generally) lesser intellectual motivation (which could not be stopped as the moderators do not come here anymore). Therefore when members from previous years such as Chainlink stop by after a hiatus from the board there is understandably a great deal of confusion and disappointment as to what this board has become. It is for this reason why many former members frequently advertise the new forum on this site. The new board is a model of what this site used to be, and virtually all of the people that once made this board so respectable are regular contributors there. I have invited several people to the new board in the past and I extend an open invitation to you, Tonks, as well as everybody currently posting here.
I sincerely hope you understand where I'm coming from and check out the new place. I am not a moderator on either site nor do I have anything to gain by promoting it, I just thought that I would try to explain the circumstances under which Chainlink was speaking (or typing).

Chainlink is completely justified in saying whatever he wants, as there are no Moderators to censor him, and I'm pretty sure I explained the reasoning behind his complaints well enough so that this thread could die. You have no authority to give someone else advice like you own this place. I was here for three years before the move, and I'm pretty sure the only Ginny I remember got banned for trolling. You know, people on this board used to say what they thought all the time, and a lot of the time they weren't nice about it at all. I guess they've all gone to the new board now, so mabye they're doing the same thing there, I don't know, I've never been. I do wish Justin didn't advertise the new board to you. There are certainly some people at this place that I don't want jumping over to the new forum. Because the new place is actually nice. A friend of a friend of a friend of mine is good friends with JK and found out the ending to book 7!!!!

So Harry does indeed find and destroy the remaining horcruxes. He seeks out Voldemort and an intense battle ensues... Before long they are (once again) in a dead lock of magical powers. Harry eventually realizes that the only way he can defeat Voldemort is for he himself to die. And so, knowing this, Harry looks back at his friends and says, "I love you... all of you," and he allows himself to be destroyed. The love that was created in the sacrifice is so powerful that it works to kill Voldemort himself. And so, with harry gone, but Voldemort gone as well, the Dark Lord's followers are helpless and good wins the battle over evil. It was also suggested by 'person x' that Hermione and Ron will profess their love for one another at some point in the book.
