Could anyone knows that the 32nd Wildcat available in UK is a retool version? In (Vol 9 Iss6)June 2003 issue of Scale Aviation Modeller, said that "this kit is NOT being retooled, has NOT been withdrawn and remains readily available." Could anyone especially who has bought the kit contribute some comments? Thanks.

This kit is not being re-tooled but I do know that it has been pulled from the shelves here in the U.S because of all the complaints about it from our so-called model experts who seem to have a problem with Trumpeter in general. Me? I have no problem with Trumpeter at all! I thank them for putting out a very good 1/24th scale P-51D Mustang. For years I had to deal with the 1/24th Airfix Mustang which is nothing but a pile of junk in my book. I salute and stand behind Trumpeter and wish them well in the hobby industrie, I know they will do very well. But whether the Wildat is avalible anywhere else that I dont know but here in the U.S its not to be found thanks to the "rivet counters".

Blue Skies,
Steve

I bought one at Fairford from Antics at a discounted price and it hasn't been retooled.

I'm aware of comments made about the kit and agree that there are some fuselage shape problems - but I think they're fixable...

Haven't had a chance to identify easiest 'fix' yet, but I'm hoping to run a 'correction' article on the 32SIG website in the next month or two...

As to Trumpeter quality - no kit is perfect - Tamygawa included - but Trumpeter get my vote every time - I have vertually every 1:32 kit they've done to date - can't wait for a 105!

I brought the kit not long after it came out. I'm in the process of painting it now and the majority of the kit goes together well with only the smallest bit of filler. Despite what all the so called american experts say it looks like a wildcat.
