Response to I feel its a hopeless cause

Here are pics of my daughter's room. I cleaned it up from Monday-Thursday one week, in July, with no air conditioning. It had not been totally cleaned for at least four years.

You can do it...!!!

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/illuminata_illuminati/my_photos (it is in the folder marked "daughter's room" or something like that)

One thing you have to remember...it didn't get that way overnight so it won't get clean overnight (thanks 3g!). Start small. I started literally in the doorway, armed with a few containers and boxes I'd emptied out for sorting and some trash bags. In two hours, I felt like I hadn't even made a dent! But, as I went along, everything either went in a storage container (Legos, Barbies, dirty clothes, etc), in the Goodwill box, or in the trash bag for trash. Some things I had to lay on the bed so I could figure out later what to do with them. As I went on, I found more storage containers I could use for further sorting. I still remember the feeling I had when I could actually SEE the floor...it was thrilling! But you have to take it one thing at a time...one thing at a time...one thing at a time. Don't look at the whole room as one huge thing, just look at one little thing at a time. And you WILL get it done, in little steps! When you get finished, it will feel WONDERFUL!
