Ok here are a couple of mine. (apologies to anyone who has already posted them!)
Toothpaste to clean silver. Must nicer than that icky SIlvo and rinses off nicely. I've only used natural toothpastes for this, not sure how stuff like Crest would do. Just dab on, wipe off and rinse. Nice minty smell too!
Baking soda in the wash. Just chuck some in the wash cycle to help freshen the laundry; it both softens and helps get rid of any smells. White vinegar will also work but you need to put it in the rinse cycle, a little bit more of a pain.
Oxygen powder "bleach" (NOT Oxi-clean ,hat stuff is icky) I got out a curry stain that had sat in a light coloured top for WEEKS with this stuff! Just wet the stain, rub some in, put in the laundry and add a scoop to the whole load. It won't fade colours like bleach either.
