Susan, I'm glad you posted on this board about this so I could tell you how sorry I was to hear about your dog. I cried when I read your post on Byways. Our pets love us in a very pure and special way and it hurts so much to lose them. But I think you're doing the right thing to get rid of the smelly dog bed and the dog hair (and the doggy doo). It would just hurt over and over again to pick up a tshirt and see dog hairs all over it. I think this is a very healthy way of dealing with your grief. If you want to memorialize your relationship with your dog you can do it much better by making a little photo album of pictures of him than by making a shrine out of his old bed!
