Response to Poll of sorts....
This house is three stories and 3600 square feet. It used to be divided evenly; each apartment had two levels, 3 bedrooms. I changed it so I have the first floor and my sister's family has the second and third. I adapt to whatever space I have, but more space would let me do more projects. On the other hand, my sister's family seems to fill up as much space as there is! No matter how many rooms, they always feel crowded to me. There is always stuff on the floor. I try to get as much as I can OFF the floor. My pantry has hooks so even the recycling bin hangs off the wall. Whenever possible, I use lamps that can be attached to the wall as well. I love the look of unobstructed floor space and empty corners. Even an old piece of wooden furniture looks nice if the top is completely clear and you swipe the dust off it once in a while. But my sister covers every surface with little framed photographs and art objects. It would make me feel cluttered. But vive la difference, right?
