This reminds me of the "Small Victories / Few Minutes" ListZilla thread.
The themes of that thread contained ideas from
"Inga_Rea", "Enough", "dirtylilsecrets", myself, and many other contributors. Here is the concept:
For some people, the ListZilla posts and Accountability Partners threads might seem rather intimidating. Hard to read. Might make the beginner person feel that it would be too hard to do even a small portion of all that.
In response to that, a new thread was started:
The "Small victories / Few minutes" Mini-List.
This thread is designed for those who wish to
post the victories of " three minutes of picking up trash "
or the big one of " actually got out of bed ".
This is intended to be an ongoing list, with no particular dates intended.
Anybody can post anytime.
Not trying to make a list of to-do's.
Not trying to list everything that was done during one day.
Just post occasionally -- one small thing you did.
The idea is to get away from comparing oneself to others who have big lists.
And to get away from comparing oneself with what one did yesterday.
Mostly a list, not much commenting.
FOCUS of this thread:
Just a simple, occasional post, listing one or two small things you did.
For those of us beginners....
Here are some examples of the types of things:
* I showered.
* I got dressed.
* I washed a dish.
* I threw something away.
But ... it could be anything.
Here one can read through and see the littlest steps and rejoice over them, and know that even one's tiny accomplishments really are a step in the right direction, and we are not alone in just starting out again!
Here is some place where one can post one's small triumphs -- without the guilt trip of lists that show what didn't get done.
Thanks again to "Inga_Rea", "Enough", "dirtylilsecrets", and many other contributors for the above concepts. |
