I think your points are very valid!

And i think you hit it perfectly what you said about genes being normal but being asked to do things that were never intended. Why should we concentrate on fixing genes rather than fixing or eliminating the triggers? Is that not any different than trying to creat the perfect blond blue eyed child when they were meant to have brown hair and eyes?
