Response to Sometimes a new school can make a big difference...

Although I would find out from the new school if they will cooperate on designing an IEP and making the necessary accomodations he needs. I know from experience the damage a bad teacher can do to a child. Can you take him for a visit to the new classroom first so that he can get an idea of how this class operates and what the teacher is like. I'm sure it must be fearful to think he could be going from bad to worse. For both you and the kids, I think you will feel better about the decision if you get more information on what they can do for them. Thomas and Ryan seem to have no real transition problems with changing schools. All they want to know is the structure, they both like strong structure.
