Because he is never going to become normal like his peers. But he needs constant visual displays of so called normal socially acceptable behaviors and acceptance by his normal peers as a human being. So, for him his goal is very well defined. Being w people who are normal, who may one day become his own neurologist or genetic researcher and come up w something to help him out later in his life!
Hiding him along w other kids who have major disabilities, is NOT the solution in our current modern day times.

According to the TEACCH method philosophy, this is what exactly is needed for all our kids. They will not be in special education to begin w if they can "experience those envts as equal"!!

Whatever , level of participation is upto the child w disability. It is a question of providing equal opportunites for all kids in an "Inclusive society like ours". It is Not a "Taliban regime here, I hope!".

Take of those veils or blinders and see the total benefits of inclusion. If they have it "upstairs" they can learn very spontaneously. Their learning is milited by Nature Genes/Genome! Nature always prevails over nurture.

You may think, Conduct disorder is very different from DDs, but they also come under devtl Disability, for a child w Conduct disorder usually experiences them before the age of 18, most of them begin showing conduct disorder symptoms by age 9 or 10 at the most.
To me, it makes no difference. All the kids need equal opportunites and placements. They need to imporve the trg and education not just for normal kids, but for all. All kids need to be included w a lot of support services from day one in school life!

Social exclusion is not the global trend, as it provokes people to terrorism and unwanted social repercusions. People who are put in jail have a very hard time finding a new life, once they serve their "time" or term! Because the society will not accept them. If only those people when they were young given full access to all counseling, guidance and support services in school days as early as they noticed the first symptoms, things could have been averted possibly for some of those prisoners. Social exclusion promotes, institutionalism and seggregation of people as human beings, regardless of color, creed and nationality or disability.

That is all I have to say.

Happy Holidays to you Cheryl and Family. I hope Daniel comes out of seclusion and never goes in there. I wish him well.
