It's not tolerance. It's not a classroom. Inclusion is the ability to participate - be included - in this world. Inclusion is independence. It is a long-term goal.
Cheryl, you keep doing what you're doing. People pay big bucks to send their NT kids to private schools with small class sizes. People pay for one-on-one tutors. The school district is required to give this and more to your son, so go for it!
Autismas - just what did inclusion give your son? He was included through fifth grade with the result being self-containment from now on. Cheryl's son is included part-time and is gaining more and more independence. I wouldn't criticize that.
I'm curious - with all the inclusion, how many birthday party invitations did he receive from his classmates? | |
