need help to evict a mouse....

daughter is afraid of it.
it has moved into the kids room.
tried to catch it, without resorting to a mousetrap.
finally had to use one. am not happy.
the problem:
this mouse knows how to take the food from the trap, and makes the trap "work" somehow, without getting itself stuck in it.
the traps are flipped upside down, both having been 'snapped', both have their food eaten.

what now, any ideas?

daughter is refusing to sleep in the room until mouse is gone.

will not want to use poison, because:
what if the dogs eat the dead poisoned mouse.
what if the mouse goes to die someplace and starts to stink in there.
what if the mouse gets outside and then not only our dogs, but all animals out there might eat the poisoned mouse.
