Sounds like the principal may be a part of the problem. They really dont seem to understand autism at all. Have you tried to provide them with information about autism? Such as the letter on Dana's site or any other info describing the needs of a child with autism?
Just a thought, you could request an IEP meeting and that you be allowed to be "present"
on speaker phone. I know you have stated its hard for you to talk on the phone, but it would allow you to be in the meeting, and also allow you to be in your own comfortable surroundings, and with your note cards, papers in front of you with what needs to be discussed, the ability to say excuse me for a moment, ect.... might be a solution to not being able to be in person at the meeting, make it easier, too...
