A new Yahoo invasion of privacy

This is for any of you who use Yahoo! messenger or belong to any Yahoo! groups!

Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing. It's similar to cookies but apparently oh-so-much-more insidious.

Here's the spot for you to opt out and review their updated privacy statement...

About half-way down the page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo! Network", you'll see a little "click here" link that will let you opt-out of their new method of snooping. I recommend you do it.

CAREFUL: In my opinion, the confirmation page is designed to confuse you--when you get the next screen there's a button "Cancel Opt-Out" in the middle of the screen that, if clicked, will UNDO* the opt-out. So, rather than click on it, simply close the window.
